| In the case of the increasing number of college graduates,there is a trend of oversupply between graduates and the employment opportunities provided by the society,and the employment situation is becoming increasingly serious.In addition,with the development of economy,the pace of work becomes faster,and enterprises have higher requirements for talents,which requires college students to have stronger flexibility and adaptability to cope with the challenges in their career.Career adaptability refers to the ability of individuals to actively adjust themselves to unpredictable changes in their career roles,plans or environment,and eventually achieve a balance with the external career environment.For college students,career adaptability can help them successfully realize the transition of career roles and achieve successful career development.Role accumulation reflects the diversity of social roles that individuals assume.Multiple roles can help individuals acquire more resources,experience or skills that are beneficial to the future.When faced with unpredictable career changes,these beneficial resources can help individuals better handle and adapt,thus enhancing their career adaptability.The current research mainly focus on the relationship between the number of roles and career adaptability,and most of them are based on the variable-centered perspective.Therefore,this thesis will first explore whether the evaluation of roles,in addition to the number of roles,has an impact on career adaptability.Then,investigate college students’ role accumulation using latent class analysis,respectively from the cross-sectional and longitudinal perspective to explore the relationship between role accumulation and career adaptability,and the role of psychological capital in it.Study 1 used a recall writing paradigm to explore the effects of role evaluation(positive group/negative group/control group)on individuals’ career adaptability and the mediating role of psychological capital.The results show that there are significant differences in the career adaptability of college students under different role evaluation conditions.The positive group has the highest level of career adaptability,and the negative group has the lowest level.Role evaluation affects individuals’ career adaptability by influencing their psychological capital.Study 2 used the questionnaire method to analyze potential categories of college students’ role accumulation from an individual-centered perspective.It also explored the relationship between college students’ role accumulation and career adaptability.The results show that the role accumulation of college students can be divided into the type of good accumulation and the type of poor accumulation.There are significant differences in the levels of career adaptability among college students by role accumulation type.The levels of career adaptability of college students with good role accumulation is significantly higher than that of the type with poor role accumulation.Role accumulation affects individuals’ career adaptability by influencing their psychological capital.Study 3 explored the relationship between role accumulation,psychological capital and career adaptability by collecting longitudinal data over a period of four months.The results show that after four months,the career adaptability of college students with good role accumulation is still significantly higher than that of those with poor role accumulation;role accumulation can directly affect individuals’ career adaptability after four months,and it can also play a role by affecting their psychological capital.Based on the above three studies,the following main conclusions can be drawn:(1)There are two types of role accumulation among college students,namely good role accumulation and poor role accumulation.(2)Role evaluation and role accumulation type affect college students’ career adaptability.Compared with the individuals with negative evaluation and poor role accumulation,the individuals with positive evaluation and good role accumulation have stronger career adaptability.(3)When individuals evaluate their roles more positively and have better role accumulation,they form a higher level of psychological capital,which in turn promotes their career adaptability. |
