With the development of information technology and the application of "Internet +" education,the application of online teaching is more and more extensive.However,the state of online learning during the epidemic also reflects many problems,and the learning effect of online learning needs to be improved.Immersive learning is an ideal learning state,and the more immersive learning experience is sufficient in the whole learning process,the better the learning effect will be.However,this state is difficult to achieve in current teaching,and it is more difficult to carry out immersive learning in online teaching.Therefore,more and more educators study how to promote students to carry out immersive learning.Through literature reading and collating,this study has a preliminary understanding of the current research status of immersive learning,and relevant studies have found that adding gamification design into the curriculum can stimulate students’ interest in learning and promote learners to enter the state of immersive learning.Therefore,on the basis of previous studies and under the guidance of situational cognition theory,self-determination theory and flow theory,this study integrates gamified elements into the design of online courses around immersive learning experience,develops targeted educational resources,and explores the influence of gamified design on learners’ cognitive transfer ability and the effect of immersive experience through action research method.By organically combining immersive learning experience with online learning,we are committed to exploring ways for learners to have immersive learning experiences in online learning,enriching research in the field of online learning,and providing references for other scholars.This study chooses programming course as the main teaching content,because programming course is practical and applicable,and has a high degree of compatibility with gamification design.Three teaching contents are selected in the programming course to carry out action research.After each round of activities,problems in gamification design and optimization methods are reflected by analyzing learners’ behavioral data and periodic test data.Finally,learners’ learning effects and immersive learning development degree are judged by immersion experience scale,cognitive transfer ability test,social network analysis and other methods.It is found that the application of gamification elements in online learning of programming courses can promote learners to carry out immersive learning,effectively improve the learning effect of online learning of programming courses,promote knowledge transfer of learners,and generate positive emotional experience.At the same time,it can provide reference for the gamification design of online programming courses to a certain extent.
