Voluntary service in colleges and universities is the main carrier of ideological and political education practice,and an important way to cultivate the new people who are willing to take responsibility and be kind to The Times.With the rise of voluntary service,universities and society gradually pay attention to it,which inevitably brings extensive attention to voluntary service education.The Fourth Plenary Session of the 19 th CPC Central Committee took "perfecting the voluntary service system" as one of the key points of adhering to the socialist core values leading the cultural construction system.College students are the main force of voluntary service.In volunteering activities,they not only meet the needs of the public development of the society,but also inherit and carry forward the good fashion of mutual help.Voluntary service of college students is not only an important way to strengthen ideological and political education in colleges and universities,but also a powerful starting point for practical education and labor education.It is of great significance for cultivating and practicing socialist core values and enhancing college students’ sense of social responsibility.Voluntary service is an important way of subjective education,an important way of concealed education and an important carrier of practical cultivation.Through voluntary service activities,college students can strengthen their ideals and beliefs in understanding the national conditions,cultivate patriotism in social participation,and increase their knowledge and knowledge in practice,so as to grow into ideal,capable and responsible new people of The Times.This paper is a study on the education function of volunteer service under the background of public health emergencies,which is mainly divided into four parts.The first part explains the theory of education function of university volunteer service under the background of public health emergencies and defines the relevant characteristics of education function of university volunteer service.The second part uses the research method of questionnaire survey to investigate and analyze the cognition,participation,management and development of voluntary epidemic prevention and control services of some university students,taking the novel coronavirus epidemic as an example.Some problems are sorted out to map out a series of problems that can occur in university voluntary service education under the background of public health emergencies.The third part discusses the mechanism of education of university volunteers under the background of public health emergencies and builds the overall process of education function under this background.The fourth part,aiming at the problems of the previous parts,summarizes the experience of volunteer service in epidemic prevention and control,and puts forward enlightening suggestions and thoughts from four aspects including top-level design,ideological guidance,guarantee mechanism and long-term operation mechanism under the existing conditions,as well as the construction of the implementation mechanism of volunteer service education in universities.
