Online education has thrived in the setting of the Internet’s rapid expansion,particularly in light of the epidemic’s substantial effects on the educational efforts of schools and institutions around the nation.This has hastened the growth of online sports instruction and encouraged the fusion of traditional and online teaching methods.At this time,it is worthwhile to consider how to deliver high-quality physical education,effectively raise student reading levels,and foster a lifelong love of sports in pupils.In this study,we examined the teaching effects of public physical education courses in Taiyuan’s universities and colleges,and randomly chose some teachers and students of those courses.The research is focused on the teaching effects of the two teaching types.By using the methods of questionnaire,literature and interview,this paper makes an in-depth analysis on the present situation of the online and offline teaching of the public physical education courses in the surveyed colleges and universities,and finds out their advantages and disadvantages,to deduce the reasons for differentiation,to promote the complementary advantages of online and offline teaching,and to provide a basis for the development of high-quality blended teaching,the aim is to improve the teaching quality of public physical education and promote the reform of physical education in colleges and universities.The research eventually came to the following conclusions:(1)Online education is more contemporary,individualized,and cost-free.Students may learn individually and are not constrained by time or space,which is convenient.It is necessary to improve the creation and use of instructional resources as well as the interaction between teachers and students.(2)Offline instruction has a wealth of expertise and great interactivity after years of use,which can better guarantee teaching quality.Students have a low level of learning autonomy and are quickly influenced by their surroundings.(3)Hybrid education overcomes online and offline obstacles,resulting in a more varied learning experience.can boost teaching informatization and improve teaching effectiveness using contemporary tools.Some teaching skills are required of teachers,and platform design needs to be enhanced.(4)The primary factors affecting the efficacy of online physical education instruction in Taiyuan City colleges and universities are: teachers’ limited online teaching abilities;teachers’ difficulty in real-time understanding of student status;students’ lack of awareness and enthusiasm;students’ lack of an active learning attitude;teachers’ difficulty in meeting normal needs due to sports conditions;and teachers’ lack of interaction with students.Recommendations:(1)Schools should upgrade their hardware,conduct frequent technical training,raise teacher proficiency levels,and enhance student usability.To build a strong foundation for high-quality mixed teaching and learning,enhance the evaluation system and feedback channels.(2)Instructors should actively modify their pedagogical approaches,draw lessons from both domestic and international teaching experiences,compile current issues,carefully plan lesson plans,stimulate students’ interest in learning,and work to raise the standard of instruction.(3)Students should improve their capacity for independent learning,master the online learning environment,actively seek out educational materials,follow the rules of the online classroom,correct their learning mindset,and immediately provide teachers with feedback on their lessons.(4)The online teaching platform should guarantee dependable system performance,optimize and upgrade platform features,lessen operational challenges,and enhance teacher and student use.
