Case Work Intervention On The Improvement Of Living Ability Of Skilled Handicapped

The 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out the need to improve the social security system and care service system for people with disabilities,promote the comprehensive development of the cause of people with disabilities,which fully reflects the central government’s special concern for the cause of people with disabilities.With the continuous development and progress of society,the basic living conditions of people with disabilities in China have significantly improved.However,as society continues to develop,the needs of people with disabilities are not limited to the basic necessities of life,but higher-level needs are also increasingly evident.Some people with disabilities who have certain cultural knowledge and skills are gradually changing everyone’s perception of people with disabilities,but compared to ordinary people,they still remain on the margins of society.Through professional practice with the blind folk art propaganda team in L County,the author used interview methods,participatory observation methods,and case work methods to deeply understand the living conditions of skilled people with disabilities in three aspects of home life,social life,and work life.The factors that affect the living standards of people with disabilities were analyzed in depth,and their own needs were deeply understood,and their potential advantages were explored,ultimately improving their ability to live to a certain extent.Through close contact with people with disabilities in the blind folk art team in L County,the author found that they have some basic survival skills,but there is also room for improvement in their ability to care for themselves.For people with disabilities who have certain self-care abilities,by improving their ability to live,they can improve their quality of life.It is hoped that this study can improve the living ability of this group to a certain extent and contribute to the local practical experience of social work for people with disabilities.
