Art education in secondary schools has become an important means of cultivating students’ aesthetic ability, cultural and artistic quality,in the context of new curriculum reform.Traditional culture suffers from the indifference of many students in the setting of multicultural interaction, and enhancing traditional culture education at the obligatory school level plays an important role in the inheritance and development of China’s traditional culture.Traditional Po-phase flower patterns,as one of the symbols for the continuation of Chinese traditional culture, not only show the change in people’s aesthetic interest, but also the assimilation and absorption of foreign culture by Chinese traditional culture, demonstrating the vigorous vitality and dynamism of Chinese traditional culture under changing times, which is the great embodiment of Chinese cultural inclusiveness and national wisdom. In this thesis, the author develop and practice the traditional Po-phase flower pattern as a middle school art curriculum resource to explore an art curriculum suitable for the physical and mental characteristics of middle school students. This thesis first discusses the relevant study background, the significance of the chosen issue, and the research methods, focusing on the current state of Po-phase flower patterns.Second, the historical evolution and aesthetic worth of the Po-phase floral pattern are investigated using relevant literature. An investigation of the feasibility of introducing the Po-phase flower pattern into the teaching of the junior high school art curriculum is also undertaken using art textbook analysis and interviews with instructors and students. The theoretical foundation, development objectives, and specific implementation methods for transforming the Po-phase flower motifs into teaching resources are once again examined, and integrated the teaching resources of the Po-phase flower pattern in the middle school art course from four types of art practice activities: "appreciation and comment","modeling and expression","design and application",and "comprehension and exploration",discussed the relevant teaching strategies, and conducted practical research. Finally,a summary and commentary on this lesson were created. The author integrates traditional Po-phase flower patterns into junior high school art teaching using both theoretical research and practical teaching,so that students can feel the charm of traditional culture and art, improve their sense of identification with traditional culture, and promote the improvement of their aesthetic quality and innovation ability.Simultaneously,it is intended that this study will provide fresh references and insights for the development of art curricular resources based on traditional culture.
