The Influence Of Basketball Star Effect On College Students’ Participation In Basketball

With the popularization of basketball and the vigorous promotion of online media,basketball has become one of the most popular sports among college students,and more and more college basketball enthusiasts have emerged.Basketball stars can create economic benefits for society,and to a certain extent,they also influence the sports participation of college basketball lovers.Therefore,through the study of the basketball star effect on college basketball lovers’ sports participation,we hope to understand the positive impact of the basketball star effect on college basketball lovers,find out the existing problems,and propose corresponding solution strategies so as to better play the role of the basketball star effect.This paper takes college basketball lovers as the investigation object and takes the influence of the basketball star effect on their basketball sports participation as the research object.It uses the literature method,the questionnaire survey method,the interview method,and the mathematical and statistical methods to carry out the research.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The basketball star effect refers to the positive influence that basketball stars can have on college students’ basketball knowledge,basketball motivation,behavioural performance and willingness to watch through their own appeal,influence and role model,etc.Basketball lovers are individuals or groups who love and follow basketball,or actively participate in the sport.(2)The phenomenon of star worship is common among college basketball lovers in Taiyuan,with 86.6% of them having their own worshiped stars.Basketball lovers in Taiyuan colleges and universities have group differences in participating in basketball sports,mainly in the age group of 18–20 years old,with sophomore year as the main grade,and have various ways of participating in basketball sports,such as taking basketball elective courses,practicing after school,participating in basketball games,watching basketball matches,and playing basketball online entertainment.(3)The reasons for basketball lovers’ admiration of basketball stars in Taiyuan colleges and universities in order from strong to weak are: the charisma of the stars themselves(42.79%),the influence of media(31.25%),the publicity of advertisement(12.18%),the desire for success(10.10%).(4)The basketball star effect has a significant influence on the sports participation of college basketball lovers in Taiyuan,and it is mostly manifested in positive aspects.It is mainly reflected in the motivation to participate in basketball,basketball frequency,sport duration,basketball consumption,basketball network entertainment,and tournament watching.(5)Optimization strategies for the influence of the basketball star effect on college basketball lovers in Taiyuan: increase the positive publicity of basketball stars to establish correct sports concepts for college basketball lovers;optimize the teaching mode of college basketball courses with the help of the "basketball star effect";use the "basketball star effect" to improve the basketball atmosphere on college campuses;learn the sportsmanship of star players to enhance college basketball lovers.The students can learn the sportsmanship of the stars to enhance their physical fitness and build a communication platform with the stars to create opportunities for basketball lovers to contact the stars.
