Since the promulgation of the "Language Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)" in April 2022,the language school community has been in a frenzy of research and reading of the new curriculum,and I am concerned that the core qualities of the language curriculum are distilled into four items: "cultural confidence","language use" and "aesthetic creation".I am concerned that the core qualities of the language curriculum are distilled into four items: "cultural confidence","language use","thinking skills" and "aesthetic creation",with "cultural confidence" being placed at the top of the list,which shows its importance.Therefore,with "cultural confidence" as the guide,the author focuses on the importance of traditional Confucian culture for language personality education,and finds a unique and inherited template for personality education in the Confucian gentleman culture-the gentleman personality-with the intention of shaping and teaching the gentleman personality in the middle school language.In the process of teaching ancient poetry,the aim is to shape and develop the "gentleman’s personality" of junior high school students,so as to help enhance students’ "cultural confidence" as their core language literacy.As the ideal personality of Confucianism,the "gentleman’s personality" has always been interpreted and practiced by benevolent men and women.In the first chapter,this paper explores the transmutation and practice of the "gentleman’s personality" through the ages,and in the process improves its own understanding of the "gentleman’s personality",providing an opportunity for the teaching of the "gentleman’s personality" theme.In the process,it also refines its own understanding of "the personality of a gentleman",accumulating material and providing new ideas for the teaching practice of the theme of "the personality of a gentleman" in ancient poetry.The second chapter focuses on two questions: "Why should students develop a gentleman’s personality" and "What is the modern nurturing value of a gentleman’s personality".Through the neglect of "gentleman’s personality" education in society,family and school education,the importance and urgency of personality education for junior high school students is emphasized.This chapter explores the rich nurturing value of the "gentleman’s personality" in the context of socialist core values,and offers possibilities for shaping students’ "gentleman’s personality" in the teaching of ancient poetry in junior high school.Chapter 3 analyses and categorises the ancient poems in the unified junior secondary language textbooks around the question of "Which ancient poems in the unified junior secondary language textbooks connote the personality of a gentleman".The four categories of "gentleman’s personality" are:loyalty to the ruler and love for the country,concern for the whole world;the pursuit of struggle with bitterness and wisdom;the way of being honest and trustworthy;and the optimism of being open-minded and optimistic.Chapter 4 focuses on the question of "how to implement the shaping of a gentleman’s personality in the teaching practice of ancient poetry",taking the 22 nd edition of the New Curriculum as a platform and proposing corresponding strategies for teaching ancient poetry from the levels of teacher quality,teaching resources and teaching activities,trying to take "cultural confidence " In this study,the students are given the opportunity to learn how to develop a "gentleman’s personality" in the teaching of ancient poetry.This study follows the nurturing orientation of the 22 nd edition of the New Curriculum and the requirement of cultivating "cultural confidence" literacy,strengthening the "nurturing" function of language on the basis of language training such as "teaching",and enhancing students’ core literacy as a whole.This study follows the nurturing orientation of the 22 nd edition of the New Curriculum and the requirement of cultivating "cultural confidence" literacy.
