The General Office of the State Council published the Opinions on Promoting the Quality Development of Modern Vocational Education in 2021,which makes suggestions for advancing educational reform,inventing new models and techniques for teaching,enhancing teaching capacity,and raising the standard of instruction.In order to fulfill the needs of today’s society as it develops,vocational education must continuously experiment and innovate in order to foster abilities that meet those needs.As a core course,the aim of expo foundation is to make the learner realize the theoretical knowledge of expo,combine the theoretical knowledge with practical application,and graduate to the job.Unfortunately,the current teaching position of middle school students in "foundation of the exhibition" and other courses is still not positive due to the lack of passion among middle school students in addition to the pedagogical approaches,evaluation methods,and other problems.Consequently,it is essential to investigate a new teaching approach that may both fulfill the needs of middle-vocational students and arouse their interest while also achieving the curriculum’s objectives.In order to motivate students and meet their career development needs,the action-oriented teaching model combines "teaching,learning,and doing," focuses on students’ "action," emphasizes the value of developing students’ career-key abilities in the process of achieving the set goals,and is based on student-centered principles.This paper investigates the teaching situation and students’ learning situation of the action-oriented teaching model through interviews,questionnaires,and classroom observation in order to explore the teaching methods appropriate for the vocational education reform.First,on the basis of defining the content,characteristics,advantages,and implementation steps of the action-oriented teaching model.In addition,based on the academic situation,the characteristics of expo foundation and existing teaching models,an action-oriented teaching mode is set up that conforms to the teaching of expo foundation.Second,in order to get pupils to shift from saying,"Let me learn," to saying,"Let me learn," the case teaching method,task-driven teaching method,and role-playing method are introduced into the teaching process.This is done in consideration of the actual situation and academic situation at Kunming GD Secondary Vocational School.Task-led instruction internalizes knowledge while students are working through tasks,blending case teaching with task-driven pedagogy,allowing students to develop their dilemma,teamwork,and practice skills.;In the course of teaching,using role play to organize the teaching,let the students play their role in the classroom,strive for everyone to participate in the classroom,improve the students’ language expression and resilience.Finally,through questionnaire and interview survey,students’ learning interest,satisfaction of teaching style,class participation and comprehensive ability have been improved.The practice results show that the application-oriented teaching mode in the "Convention and Exhibition Basics" course has certain feasibility.This teaching mode combines learning activities with professional activities,and the teaching process is connected to the professional situation.Students "learn for action,through action,through action " To learn " ",It is helpful for enhancing students’ enthusiasm in studying,developing their all-round skills,enhancing the effectiveness of classroom instruction,and creating a lively classroom.As a result,it is worthwhile to promote and implement the action-oriented teaching model in the "Foundation of the Exhibition.",and it is also worth promoting to other practical operations to exercise the comprehensive professional ability of students and make students a skill talent that meets social needs.However,in order to effectively apply action-oriented teaching models to improve the quality of teaching,it is necessary to continuously improve teachers’ professional ability,classroom control ability,pay more attention to students,and guide students to achieve the best teaching effect and achieve healthy development.
