Construction Of An Evaluation Index System For Globally Renowned Sports Cities

In recent years,with the continuous changes in the global urban landscape and the increasingly fierce urban competition,more and more cities have begun to consider sports as their important development strategy and attempt to build themselves into famous sports cities.The evaluation of globally renowned sports cities has become an important theoretical and practical issue in the process of urban development in China.However,there are some shortcomings in the current academic research on this issue:there is more theoretical research and less empirical comparative analysis;There is more research on the framework of the indicator system,but less research on the implementation path.This article aims to construct a scientific and reasonable evaluation index system for globally renowned sports cities by analyzing existing research and experience worldwide,using content analysis method,in order to facilitate comparison and evaluation of cities around the world.This indicator system mainly includes three primary indicators: sports events,sports industry,and sports culture.The weight of each indicator is calculated using the Analytic Hierarchy Process,and the relationship between each indicator is deeply analyzed and explored.Finally,this indicator system is applied to the evaluation of multiple cities around the world,and some meaningful conclusions are drawn.For example,in the sports industry,New York has obvious advantages;In terms of sports events and sports culture,London is more competitive;Shanghai’s overall score is basically on par with Tokyo,and it is expected to surpass Tokyo in the future,further enhancing the level of building a globally renowned sports city.Based on the comprehensive evaluation and specific secondary and tertiary indicators,the following suggestions are proposed: to create an international top-level event system and timely bid for the Olympic Games and World Cup;Developing the sports industry with high quality and promoting the achievement of the pillar goals of the national economy;Improve the public sports service system and promote the integration of national fitness and sports into daily life.The research results of this article can not only provide reference and inspiration for relevant government departments and decision-makers,but also provide scientific basis for the development of urban sports.I believe that by continuously improving and optimizing the evaluation index system,cities in various countries will become stronger in competition and win wider recognition and respect on the global sports stage.
