A Study Of The Control Of Digital Labor By Platform-Based Media

As a digital field constructed by multiple relationships of capital,technology and users,platform-based media are constantly embedded in individuals’ daily lives,and the development of digital technology inevitably affects labor forms and processes.Digital labor,as a new form of value-creating labor,has changed the traditional labor-management relationship and production and consumption patterns.If we start from the perspective of platform control,we can see that the exploitation of digital labor and the alienation of labor subjects in platform-based media are more insidious and complicated,and also profoundly affect the construction of the whole media ecology.First,the overview of digital labor in the Tik Tok platform is analyzed,including factors such as motivating factors,survival status,characteristic performance,and control purposes,and the available conditions and labor sites provided by the platform as an infrastructure for digital laborers cannot be ignored.This paper focuses on analyzing the control logic of digital labor in the platform from a critical perspective,viewing Jitterbug,a platform-based media,as a power device to control digital laborers and laborers as parts that constitute the smooth operation of this device,and the two perform the control mechanism of digital society in a dynamic relationship,and this labor control covers the whole labor process.From the perspective of digital laborers,we can see that laborers actively fall into control traps such as fantasy of fame,self-exploitation,emotional investment,inert connotation and weakened labor resistance,and from the control means,we can see the monopoly power of platforms,non-employment employment model,algorithmic and data-based technology combination,disguised exploitation of labor fruits,and ideological manufacturing.This control relationship deepens the manipulation and exploitation of digital laborers by platform-based media,forms an asymmetric power structure in the platform society,incorporates laborers into the system of platform capital proliferation,creates multiple sieges on digital labor,and causes many effects such as alienation of digital laborers,labor orientation of traffic chasing,and shaping the platform labor order.Therefore,the relationship between platforms and digital laborers needs to be treated correctly,and the control of digital labor needs to be explored with constructive solutions.In response to the labor control problems that appear in the path of media platforming,,this paper hopes to construct a rich discourse picture through reasonable and effective thinking,reflecting on the development of platforms while also focusing on the subjects of laborers,from paying attention to public media attributes,creating digital public space to the strong skill resistance of laborers and other unrestrained ideas,and in this way of thinking tries to improve the cooperative and shared platform-based media and achieve the comprehensive development of digital laborers.
