| As the demand for higher education increases among the general public,higher education institutions are expanding,and some institutions are transitioning from traditional elite education to mass education.Private universities are crucial for providing higher education to the masses and managers in these universities are fundamental in creating a good teaching environment and supporting education and teaching.However,most managers in private universities have high workloads,diverse job positions,and low work identification,which can result in job burnout.This study aims to explore the current status,key influencing factors,and mitigation strategies of job burnout among grassroots managers in a private university,namely A University,in Zhuhai City,Guangdong Province.This research is significant for improving the work efficiency of grassroots managers in A University,accelerating the high-quality development of A University,and promoting the development of China’s higher education industry.This study is based on the measurement theory of occupational burnout,the dual factor theory,and the motivation theory,and uses methods such as literature research,interview surveys,and questionnaire surveys to explore the current situation,key influencing factors,and mitigation strategies of job burnout among grassroots managers in A private university.Firstly,the set of factors influencing job burnout among grassroots managers in A University was established based on the analysis of domestic and foreign literature and the extraction of specific behavioral characteristics of key event interviews.Secondly,through a questionnaire survey,10 key influencing factors of job burnout among grassroots managers were identified,including four dimensions: organization,employees,work,and society.Organizational factors include promotion pathways,incentive methods,salary systems,and training systems;Employee factors include career planning and psychological qualities;Work factors include work environment,work pressure,and autonomy in decision-making;Social factors are occupational identity.Then,the causes of job burnout among grassroots managers were analyzed based on the key influencing factors,and the differences in key influencing factors of job burnout among different genders,ages,and education levels were analyzed in-depth.Finally,mitigation strategies for job burnout among grassroots managers in A University were proposed from the four dimensions of organization,employee,work,and society,as well as for different genders,ages,and education levels.The research results of this paper provide an important theoretical basis and methodological support for A University to mitigate job burnout among grassroots managers and also provide references for similar universities to improve their personnel management practices. |
