With the continuous development of higher education,more and more private colleges and universities have emerged,providing education opportunities for more people,which become an important part of higher education.Students in private colleges and universities often have weak theoretical foundation,poor learning ability and poor learning habits,which brings great pressures and challenges for private colleges and universities to manage students.The responsibilities of counselors is mainly to carry out ideological and political education and daily management of students,and such pressures and challenges fall on the counselors' shoulders.Due to the short time for the establishment of private colleges and universities,the organizational structure,management system and other aspects are imperfect.Counselors are not only burdened with heavy work load,but also unable to get enough support and guarantee from the organization.Therefore,it is easy to occur job burnout.The occurrence of job burnout has brought many negative impacts on the counselors' mental health,students' growth,and the overall development of the school.Based on the actual situation of S private college and university,this study analyzes the specific causes of job burnout by investigating the situation of counselors' job burnout,and puts forward targeted countermeasures and suggestions,so as to provide references for S private college and university to alleviate and eliminate job burnout.This article through consulting lots of literature,reviewing and combing the theory of job burnout and the research status at home and abroad,taking MBI job burnout questionnaire for reference,combining the reality of S private college and university,made S non-state-run university counselor job burnout scale for part of the job burnout questionnaire,through random interviews of 15 counselors,made a questionnaire of job burnout reason scale part,which is divided into three parts: personality characteristics,organizational environment and work content.Subsequently,a questionnaire survey was conducted on all in-service counselors in S private college and universitiy with a total of 108 questionnaires.SPSS software is used to conduct descriptive analysis and difference analysis,and the following conclusions are as follows: the occupational burnout of counselors in S private college and university is common,and the occupational burnout is moderate level.Therefore,several reasons affecting the job burnout of counselors in private colleges and universities in S are analyzed from these perspectives: Personality characteristics,organizational environment and job content,and countermeasures and suggestions are proposed from the organizational level and personal level respectively.
