| Objective: In the strategy of "strong education,strong sports and healthy China" in the new era,the duties and missions of physical education teachers have raised higher requirements.Teachers in general universities are the first resource to realize the high-quality development of modern higher education,and they are the foundation of education and the source of education,so teachers’ professional identity and burnout have attracted much attention.By investigating the professional identity and burnout of general college physical education teachers,we can help improve the professional identity of general college physical education teachers and reduce burnout at the same time.Methods: Using the methods of literature,questionnaire and mathematical statistics,the correlation between professional identity and burnout of physical education teachers in general colleges and universities in Fujian Province was studied by citing the Professional Identity Scale for Physical Education Teachers in General Colleges and Universities compiled by Keqing Gao and the Burnout Scale for Physical Education Teachers in Colleges and Universities compiled by Guohong Li as research measurement tools.Results:(1)The overall professional identity of physical education teachers in general colleges and universities in Fujian Province was high(M>3),where there were no significant differences in demographic variables such as gender,age,education,holding different positions,school type,number of class hours and monthly salary.The overall level of professional identity,P<0.01 for job title and P<0.05 for years of teaching experience,indicated that both were significantly different,with the lowest professional identity scores for teachers with the job title of lecturer and 5-10 years of teaching experience.(2)The overall burnout of physical education teachers in general colleges and universities in Fujian Province did not reach the moderate level(M<3),but the overall value was quite close to the moderate level,especially in the dimensions of emotional exhaustion and low achievement,which were already higher than the median value.Age,education,years of teaching,type of school,amount of classroom hours and monthly salary on demographic variables were not significant(p>0.05),but gender at the level of depersonalization p<0.01,job title at the level of emotional exhaustion p<0.05,and holding different major positions at the level of low achievement p<0.01,indicating a significant difference.(3)Physical education teachers in general colleges and universities have a strong negative relationship between professional identity and burnout,with a significant negative relationship between sense of emotional benefit and emotional exhaustion;a significant positive relationship between sense of emotional benefit and low achievement and depersonalization;a significant negative relationship between sense of motivation and emotional exhaustion;a significant positive relationship between sense of motivation and depersonalization and low achievement;and a significant negative relationship between self-regulation and emotional exhaustion.Self-regulation and depersonalization and low achievement were significantly and positively correlated.(4)In the regression analysis,it was found that professional identity of physical education teachers in general colleges and universities had a negative predictive effect on burnout,and the higher the professional identity,the lower the burnout;the emotional benefit factor of professional identity could negatively predict the emotional exhaustion factor of burnout;the self-regulation factor could negatively predict the depersonalization factor of burnout;the motivation factor could positively predict the low achievement factor of burnout.The motivation factor significantly and positively predicted the low achievement factor of burnout.Conclusion:(1)The overall value of professional identity of general university physical education teachers in Fujian Province was high.The main effects of gender,age,position,education,school type,and monthly salary were not statistically significantly difference,while there were significant differences in job title and teaching years.(2)The overall level of burnout among general university physical education teachers in Fujian Province did not reach the moderate level value,but there was moderate burnout in the level of emotional exhaustion and low achievement.The main effects of age,education,teaching experience,amount of class hours,school type,and monthly salary were not statistically significantly different,while significant differences existed in gender,job title,and holding different positions.(3)There is a negative significant relationship between professional identity and burnout among physical education teachers in general universities.(4)There is a negative predictive effect of professional identity of general university physical education teachers on burnout,and the higher the professional identity the lower burnout follows,especially reflected in the higher the emotional benefit in the professional identity of general university physical education teachers,the lower the burnout. |
