In the era of digital media, with the popularity of mobile electronic devices, the threshold of various applications has been lowered by technology.Besides traditional professional organizations, ordinary users have also become content producers. When the whole people are involved in the wave of mobile Internet, short video is certainly one of the most popular applications for social networking and production. In daily life, when all kinds of social media applications are springing up,more and more middle-aged women in rural areas have quietly joined in this online "carnival".They have started to use entertainment and life social media apps such as We Chat,Dou Yin,and We Sing, and are willing to show themselves or share their daily life on different platforms. Moreover, this enthusiasm for use will not easily weaken with time.Mobile Internet is not an online community where only young people gather, and a large number of middle-aged and elderly users and sinking market users also form a network. In this paper, the middle-aged women in rural areas of Y County,Hunan Province are taken as the research object, and Dou Yin is used as the research platform to analyze their practical behavior in Dou Yin by using the research method of network ethnography. The full text mainly focuses on the local communication theories such as self-presentation,self-identification,Ren Qing and face, and explains the online action characteristics of the research object. This paper holds that the effectiveness of Dou Yin for middle-aged female users in rural areas is diverse and unprecedented. They gain basic entertainment effectiveness by watching others or showing themselves in Dou Yin.Some people also regard Dou Yin as a learning or profit platform. In general, the self-presentation of the research object in Dou Yin is significantly influenced by their acquaintances and online friends.Built on the different purposes of using Dou Yin,their behaviors and practices also have their own characteristics.Under the influence of local characteristics such as Ren Qing and face, they attach great importance to the interaction with others, often follow specific norms and strategies in their interactions, and finally seek self-identification.It is difficult to gain recognition. The research object has to face the "wrestling" between the interactive parties, adjust the tension between traditional and modern concepts, and be limited by its own media literacy, which will affect its experience and even material benefits in the use process. In a word, the short video platform represented by Dou Yin gives more people the possibility of being seen, but to get this kind of real "visibility" requires painstaking efforts of users, and "invisibility" is still the norm.On the other hand, the present situation can give inspiration to the "digital" development of rural women and even the entire rural area. With the help of the flourishing of media technology, mobile network and social applications, rural middle-aged women can also open up more possibilities in the traditional society and an ideological trend.
