| The problem of juvenile delinquency has always been a hot spot of social concern,and China’s judicial organs have been adhering to the working policy of probation,education,reformation and rescue of juveniles involved in crimes.Drawing on the experience of western developed countries,China’s judicial system has been constantly improved and regulations and policies have been formulated to match the national conditions.The introduction of social work expertise into the judicial field is an important reflection of the further improvement of judicial work.Social workers support and help minors involved in crime throughout the judicial process,and there are clear provisions in the law requiring social workers to care for and accompany minors involved in crime during the judicial process.The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of social work interventions in the judicial field for the correction of delinquent youths using a case-based approach.Taking Xiao Yong,a juvenile involved in crime in the Y institution in P city,as an example,the study uses social support theory and methods to gradually obtain outside support and resources,strengthen the interaction between the caseworker and the environmental system,enhance the caseworker’s self-confidence and ability,help the caseworker return to normal social life,and complete the task entrusted by the judicial authorities through casework.The study is not only a study of the out-of-custody support system.The study not only provides case-based services for minors involved in crimes outside of prison,but also aims to promote the deeper involvement of social work in the judicial field.The results of the study showed that the crime-involved minor Xiao Yong who participated in the observation and correctional services had a certain understanding of the nature and impact of his criminal behavior,realized that he had brought great harm to his family and others because of his mistakes,and showed deep regret for this caseworker.In the process of help and education,the caseworker learned to actively express his thoughts and feelings,began to be willing to talk with his father,abide by and maintain family norms,family relations improved,and at the same time,he improved his legal awareness and ability to distinguish right from wrong,actively participated in community affairs and reintegrated into the community.In addition,the introduction of social work by the judiciary to conduct planned and organized correctional activities is of great significance in advancing judicial justice,updating the methods of correctional assistance,and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of crime-involved minors.The study promotes the cooperation between social work agencies and judicial organs,and also makes some practical references for the development and research of social work in the judicial field. |
