The sound development of students ’ thinking is related to the acquisition of subject knowledge and the cultivation of ability.Whether geography teachers can design high-quality problems plays an extremely important role in the development of students ’thinking structure. In the " ordinary high school geography curriculum standard(2017edition 2020 revision)," it emphasizes the development and evaluation of students ’thinking in the learning process, and clearly advocates the application of problem-based teaching. As a qualitative evaluation method,SOLO classification theory believes that students ’ thinking has the characteristics of visualization and shows a gradual increasing trend.Whether the design of geographical problems is reasonable or not,to a large extent, affects the effect of problem-based teaching, and rich in logical, hierarchical problem chain plays an important role in promoting the phased development of students ’ thinking. Therefore, the SOLO classification theory and geographical problem design are combined to construct the high school geographical problem design model based on SOLO classification theory and its application. The specific process and conclusions of this study are as follows :First of all, this paper uses literature research method, inductive analysis method, based on the related research at home and abroad,so as to obtain the present situation of this study, establish the research purpose, content and technical route.Through interviews, this paper clarifies the current situation of high school geography teachers ’ problem design and SOLO classification theory, and provides guidance and practical basis for the construction of high school geography problem design model based on SOLO classification theory.Secondly, starting from the SOLO classification theory, this paper puts forward the principles to be followed in the design model of high school geography problems and six strategies for model construction, constructs a general model of high school geography problem design based on SOLO classification theory, sorts out specific teaching steps, and expounds the application strategy of teaching. It provides a general model and scientific reference for high school geography teachers in the design and teaching of daily problems. Finally,in order to apply the SOLO problem model to practical teaching, taking the new geography textbook for senior high school published by the People ’ s Education Press as an example, the SOLO problem chain is designed in chapters such as ‘ the atmosphere on the earth ’,‘ natural disasters ’ and ‘ the movement of the earth ’,and the teaching practice is carried out. After the teaching practice, the paper sets up the contrast experiment, compiles the geography subjective test questions to test students ’ thinking level, and formulates the corresponding scoring standards, which provides a strong operational implementation path for high school geography teachers ’ teaching.Through the statistics and analysis of the test results, the application effect of the model is tested, that is,to obtain the feedback information of the development of students ’ thinking level. Finally, the practical value of SOLO problem model in the cultivation of students ’geographical thinking structure is verified.Relevant teaching suggestions and countermeasures are put forward, and the research is reflected and prospected at the end of the paper.
