At present,the development of China’s modern educational theory system is gradually moving towards a new stage.Information technology and educational theory are constantly interactive and integrated.As the most closely integrated cross research field with technology in the field of pedagogy,the theoretical research of educational technology has attracted more and more attention of researchers.In the field of educational technology in China,the abstract discussion on the theoretical category,structure and system construction has been relatively sufficient.In the development and application of single theory,there have been also many exploration results.However,there are few studies to observe and analyze the overall application of theories in the field of educational technology from the practical level.From the perspective of literature content mining,combined with content analysis and text mining technology,this study takes the literature content of 7representative journals in the field of educational technology in China as the data source.This study takes the name,frequency of use,source discipline,mode of use and application theme of the theory as the specific coding category.This study comprehensively and systematically combs the application characteristics and development trend of China’s educational technology theory,in order to help reveal the law and evolution mechanism of China’s educational technology theory application and development,provide reference for the construction of educational technology discipline theory system,and finally promote the benign development of China’s educational technology field.It is found that the theoretical content of research in the field of educational technology in China is increasing,and the attention to theoretical research is deepening.The theoretical structure of the research in this field is relatively reasonable.Its theoretical source disciplines include natural science,social science and humanities.The external discipline theories account for 35% and the theories of pedagogy account for 65%.Its field core is still education.From the perspective of trend,the proportion of external discipline theories in the research of educational technology in China are gradually increasing and the interdisciplinary characteristics are remarkable.Constructivism theory,activity theory and connectionism theory are the top three theories in terms of frequency of use.Technological development promotes the use of specific theories.In terms of the use mode of theories,the two early use modes were mainly the application of theory and the introduction of theory.In the later stage,the proportion of theoretical innovation and theoretical review increased significantly.The types of use modes tended to develop in a diversified and balanced manner,and the overall use level gradually improved.In terms of applied themes,the theories used among various themes are both independent and penetrated into each other.There are both differences and intersections in the use of theories.Different themes have different preferences for the use of theories.Based on the above analysis,this study believes that the theoretical sources in the field of educational technology in China are rich and diverse.Technological change is an important driving factor affecting the use of theories.The number of theoretical innovation is high but the overall innovation level needs to be improved.The balance between technology and theory,the category distinction and concept integration between this discipline and other disciplines,and the creation of highquality original theory are the severe challenges faced by the next development of educational technology discipline in China.
