| Since the establishment of the system of college counselors, it has played an important role in the stability and development of colleges. Nowadays, with the development of the popularization of higher education, the function of student affairs management staff(counselors) is no longer ideological and political education just like the past time, but has been extended to be students developing and students serving. The instructor system also changed from the original political purpose to the professional orientation. At present, China’s college student affairs management generally implement the dual management mode, and it has caused a series of problems,such as the lacking of specialized division of counselors ?work, the compplication of counselors ’work and so on. The dual management of the colleges(departments) has made professional counselor in trouble. The management of student affairs is not only related to the development of students, but also related to the education goal of colleges. Based on this background, the core issue of this essay is how to build a professional division mode of college student affairs, to achieve the development of students and counselors.This article uses the method of literature research, comparative research and investigation, and it mainly divides into four parts:The first part expounds the theoretical basis and practical significance of the management of College Students’ affairs. The theoretical basis of the University Counselors’ work in China mainly involves higher education function theory, teacher professional development theory, human resource theory and meticulous management theory.The second part explores the experience and enlightenment of the management mode of College Students’ affairs in China and overseas. The student affairs management in colleges of The United States, Britain, Hong Kong of China and Taiwan of China have experienced a long process of development, and gradually built up a management system which represents specialization, professionalization, and institutionalization. The analysis and investigation of the student affairs management experience from these countries and regions can provide reference for Chinese college student affairs management mode.The third part reviews the history evolution and current situation of the student affairs management in our country. Via a case study on the BH University, we found that there are many problems in the student affairs management, which is the complexity of counselors’ roles, the diversity of the work content, and the limitation of management model. The mainly reasons cause those problems lie in the incompleteness of the system and the historical and personal factors.The fourth part put forwards some suggestions about the management mode of the specialization of student affairs in our country. If we want current student affairs management more specialized and professional,we must construct a division model and a security system,and to stimulate the vitality of the counselor group and to enhance the professional identity of the counselors. |
