At present, the country has an increasing demand for innovative and entrepreneurial talents. The concepts of "mass entrepreneurship and innovation" have been put forward one after another, and the state’s support for college students’ entrepreneurship has been enhanced, but the supply of entrepreneurial talents is far from sufficient. As the youth of the new era, college students have strong ability to receive education and accept new things.Their entrepreneurial willingness is also being promoted by national policies and influenced by their own educational experience.Vocational college student entrepreneurship has become a special group in the economic system,is constantly affecting the development of economy.Supported by the extended model of planned behavior theory, this paper focuses on the influence of cognitive antecedents(entrepreneurial attitude, subjective norms, entrepreneurial self-efficacy),entrepreneurial education and emotional competence on students’ entrepreneurial intention, and how different factors interact to promote the formation of entrepreneurial intention. In this study, the structural equation model was used to investigate the relationship between the model structure and 392 vocational college students in Jiangxi Province. The results show that the entrepreneurial intention of students in higher vocational colleges is significantly positively affected by their entrepreneurial attitude, entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial education.Meanwhile, entrepreneurial education and emotional competence are also mediated by entrepreneurial attitude and entrepreneurial self-efficacy to promote the formation of entrepreneurial intention.Different from previous research results, higher vocational college students’ subjective norms do not have a significant positive impact on the formation of entrepreneurial intention.Based on this, the following suggestions are put forward:First, emphasize the role of emotional ability in encouraging students in higher vocational colleges to start businesses, improve the positive influence of emotional competence in improving students’ entrepreneurial attitude and entrepreneurial self-efficacy,and encourage vocational colleges to integrate the improvement of emotional ability and the enhancement of students’ comprehensive quality into new entrepreneurship education programs.Second, students in higher vocational colleges are encouraged to make full use of school resources, actively learn knowledge about entrepreneurship, collect the latest information about innovation and entrepreneurship, objectively analyze their own advantages and disadvantages, actively face the difficulties encountered in entrepreneurship, overcome negative thoughts, and strive to cultivate their own entrepreneurial consciousness.Thirdly,in order to create a good environment for entrepreneurship in the society, the government can help students in higher vocational colleges to start their own businesses from the aspects of policy guidance and public opinion guidance, and provide practical entrepreneurship programs and later support for students,so as to reduce the misunderstanding of students and their parents about entrepreneurial activities.
