Guided by the current general environment,driven by the social positions of comprehensive talents in electronics technology and the background of curriculum reform in secondary vocational schools,vocational education has ushered in a new period of development.As an integral part of secondary education in our country,secondary education is responsible for the important task of training hundreds of millions of highquality workers,and its development process directly affects the overall development trend of vocational education,while the key factor in the development of secondary education is teaching.The STEAM education concept aims to cultivate students’ interdisciplinary thinking,cooperation and communication skills,and to improve their innovative ability and comprehensive literacy.A better implementation of the Electronic Product Installation and Commissioning course for secondary school students must rely on conforming to the talent training programme for secondary school education,combining with the skills requirements of vocational jobs in society and referring to the standards of vocational school skills competitions.The social orientation of secondary school students is that they are technical talents who can meet the requirements of their jobs,and it is an inevitable trend of China’s vocational education reform to align the STEAM education concept with the training standards of secondary school talents.This study aims to integrate the STEAM education concept with the teaching of the middle-level Electronic Product Installation and Commissioning course,draw on the characteristics and advantages of the STEAM education concept,and design a middle-level teaching case that incorporates the STEAM concept.This study uses questionnaire,interview,observation and quasiexperimental research methods to support each stage of the research.Firstly,relevant literature was reviewed to understand the current status of STEAM education research at home and abroad,and the use of STEAM concept in secondary education in China to provide a theoretical basis for this study.Then a study was conducted on the current situation of a secondary school in Zhejiang Province to understand the current teaching situation of the practical training class of electronics in secondary schools,the application of STEAM concept and the cultivation of students’ interdisciplinary thinking,so as to provide a realistic basis for designing a secondary teaching design based on STEAM concept.This is followed by teaching practice to verify the effectiveness of the STEAM concept in practical teaching through experimental effects.Finally,the teaching design is improved and summarised according to the effectiveness of the teaching implementation,and suggestions for the implementation of teaching design based on STEAM concept are put forward to provide relevant references for secondary schools to carry out teaching of STEAM concept and cultivate students’ innovative ability and comprehensive literacy.
