| In the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,it is clearly stated that we should " improve physical education for our young people and move faster to build China into a country strong in sports.".On one hand,General Secretary Xi Jinping said in the National Education Conference: "We should establish the educational idea of health-is-the-first,set up a full range of physical education classes,and help students enjoy physical exercise,enhance physical fitness,improve their personality and refine their will",which shows the importance of strengthening youth sports.On the other hand,"the key to cultivating talents lies in teachers".Physical education teachers,as the key link to popularize physical education knowledge and sports in school physical education classes,are the practitioners in fostering virtue through education.and Their role are closely related to the development of physical education.Elementary school physical education teachers play a fundamental role in enhancing adolescents’ physical health and students’ athletic ability,and are life mentors for adolescents to establish sports awareness.Creating a high-quality and well-structured elementary school physical education teacher team is the top priority in youth sports work.It is up to teachers to lead and cultivate young people to love sports,enjoy sports and develop lifelong physical exercise habits,so it is necessary to reshape the role of elementary school physical education teachers in the new era,which is conducive to enhancing the suitability of elementary school physical education teachers with the era and helping to cultivate excellent physical education teachers in the new era.This research took the construction of the teaching force in the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics as the entry point focused on the role of teachers,and took the role reshaping of elementary school physical education teachers as the research object.Documentary method and semi-structured in-depth interviews were used as research method,and the proceduralised grounded theory was used to process the collected interview materials.A total of 32 elementary school physical education teachers of different levels and stages participated in semi-structured in-depth interviews and follow-up records,including 22 front-line elementary physical education teachers and 10 students from normal university who intended to become elementary physical education teachers.From the perspective of teachers’ roles,the problems of role-playing and perceptions of elementary physical education teachers in the new era and the necessity and relevance of teacher role reshaping was analyzed.The findings of the research are as follows:1.According to the research findings,primary physical education teachers in the new era,especially young teachers,were willing to take the initiative to shape their roles,had good teacher ethics and a heart to adapt to the development and progress of the era,which was a subjective advantage for primary physical education teachers to carry out role reshaping.In the context of having both objective and subjective conditions,the role reshaping of elementary school physical education teachers is feasible,but the following gaps still existed: firstly,the teacher’s professionalism didn’t match the actual needs of students;secondly,teachers lacked the role awareness of "knowledge transmission and emotion transfer";thirdly,teachers lacked the role ability of "multi-layer diversification of classroom content";fourthly,the role orientation of "sports authority" was blurred;fifthly,the consciousness of "research role " was not enough.2.Based on these gaps,five dimensions,the role of professionalism,the role of emotional and value exporter,the role of classroom content perfector,the role of physical education authority,and the role of education and teaching researcher in role reshaping of elementary school physical education teachers in the new era were constructed to enhance building China into a country strong in sports.3.Based on the above five dimensions,the researcher proposed the following suggestions for role reshaping of elementary school physical education teachers: firstly,the development of elementary school physical education teachers’ professionalism should be closely related to students’ needs;secondly,elementary school physical education classes should focus on connotation development and integration of values,and insist on cultivating people with all-round development of moral,intellectual,physical,aesthetic and social skills;thirdly,the teaching content of physical education classes should be improved to promote the development of multi-layered teaching content;fourthly,he authority of elementary school physical education teachers should be enhanced to improve society’s trust in them;fifthly,in terms of teachers’ academic quality,teachers should strengthen their scientific research ability and integrate teaching and research to become a "generalist" teacher. |
