Affected by the Covid-19,all primary and secondary schools in the country took the online methods to organize teaching activities during the spring of 2020.This is an concerted attempt to practice online education among public schools in the country.In the process,we discovered that we can also take advantage of the flexibility and the extensibility of online teaching in normalized patterns.The author borrows the media situation theory to discuss the impact of information technology on education and teaching,to focus on the field of online education,and to explore the benign interaction between the construction of social scenes and the changes in individual behavior patterns.Specifically,there are four dimensions of questions.First,Comparing the online teaching and the traditional offline one,where lies the differences from the perspective of the media context?What impact does the online education scene have on the construction of the role of teachers?What problems have appeared in the construction of teacher roles in the online education scene?How to build a new teacher role in the online education scene?This article takes the role of teachers as the starting point,using literature research methods,participatory observation methods and in-depth interview methods-by having semi-structured interviews with 15 teachers,15 students,and 10 parents in five middle schools in Wuhan-to explore the reshaping the role of teachers from the media contextual perspective.Based on the media situation theory,this research defines three scene variables:the association of educational information,the difference between the "front area" and the "rear area",and the association between the educational scene and the physical space.Researches had found that the online education scene presented a contradictory tendency:the coexistence between in time access to educational information and non-exclusive contacts to knowledge,between the transparency and the invisibility in teachers'background,between the breakthrough of limitations in time and space along with the limited interactive communication.This contradictory situation in the online education scene brought about by information technology has caused corresponding changes in the role of teachers in the implementation of online teachers:the teacher's sense of authority has been significantly weakened,and the central district's behavior has increased.This article analyzes the results of interviews and puts forward the problem of the mismatch between the teachers' role behavior in their online education scene and the students' need during their growth.Also,it points out that in the contradictory situation presented by the online education scene,to deal with the relationship between the construction of the social scene and individual behavior,it is necessary to make full use of the individual's subjective initiative.The teacher's personal choice determines the direction of the change of the teacher's role.In the context of new media,the changes in the teaching scene require teachers to fully understand the growth need of students and the characteristics of the physical and mental development of students in the new learning scene,to adjust their teaching content and methods according to the changes in teaching scenes and social needs,to optimize their own structure of knowledge,to build a new teaching system.The new scene of online education also requires public schools to pay more attention to the cultivation of teachers' comprehensive quality,and to participate actively in the development of online courses and the construction of teaching platforms with schools as a unit to provide practical and effective help for the transformation of teachers' roles.At the same time,relevant government departments need to optimize the top-level design and the allocation of educational resources,and to improve relevant laws and regulations.With this three-pronged approach,we will jointly construct a new teacher role in the context of new media.
