| With the development of the Internet and the increasing popularity of digitalization, the value of data is becoming increasingly apparent, and people regard data as an important resource that needs to be accessed and begin to save it in large quantities. However, due to the accelerated pace of life and the reduced cost of data storage, more and more people are storing indiscriminately and not managing data in a timely manner, resulting in data hoarding.Nowadays,as the main force of network users, most of the graduate students are "network natives" who grow up in the network environment and are exposed to a large amount of data in their daily life.Analyzing the main factors affecting the data hoarding behavior of the graduate students can help users understand the value of data,so as to manage data in an orderly manner, achieve data The analysis of the main factors influencing the data hoarding behavior of graduate students can help users understand the value of data,so as to manage data in an orderly manner, maximize the utilization rate of data, and reduce the adverse effects of data hoarding. Therefore, this paper selects graduate students as the research object and adopts a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods to explore the key factors that affect the emergence of data hoarding behavior of graduate students at present. In the qualitative research part, this paper conducted semi-structured interviews with24 graduate students, and used rooting theory to conduct open coding, spindle coding and selective coding on the obtained interview raw data, and extracted a total of 63 initial concepts,19 initial categories and 8 main categories(personal needs, personal habits, data characteristics, social influence, technical support, data literacy, emotional attachment, and data hoarding behavior),and constructed a theoretical model of factors influencing graduate students’ data hoarding behavior based on MOA theory,S-O-R model and attachment theory. In the quantitative research part, this paper designed the questionnaire for this empirical study with reference to previous related studies and mature scales, and conducted a questionnaire survey on current master’s and doctoral students, and finally obtained 434 valid questionnaire samples, and then used Smart PLS 3.0 software to conduct a series of validation of the theoretical model of the influencing factors of the data hoarding behavior of graduate students proposed in the previous paper. The following conclusions were drawn after the analysis:Personal needs, personal habits, social influence, and technical support positively affect emotional attachment;data characteristics do not significantly affect emotional attachment;data characteristics, social influence, technical support, data literacy, and emotional attachment positively affect data hoarding behavior;personal needs negatively affect data hoarding behavior;and personal habits do not significantly affect data hoarding behavior. In addition, emotional attachment fully mediates the effect of personal habits on data hoarding behavior;partially mediates the effect of personal needs, social influence and technical support on data hoarding behavior;and does not mediate the effect of data characteristics on data hoarding behavior.Based on the findings of the study, this paper proposes recommendations for graduate students themselves, related services such as schools and libraries, and data storage platforms, respectively,to provide references for improving the data management capabilities of graduate users. |
