| With the introduction of the "double reduction" policy,the state has put forward new requirements on the quality of school education on the one hand,and higher requirements on the quality of parent participation on the other hand.It is particularly important to improve the home-school-community collaboration mechanism,further clarify the responsibility of home-school education,and promote the construction of a collaborative education community.Previous studies have conducted extensive research on the content of parent participation,but under the background of "double reduction",there are fewer studies on parent participation in local primary schools.Therefore,this study explores the parent participation in the middle and upper grades of a local primary school,understands the current situation of parent participation under the background of "double reduction",finds existing problems,and proposes targeted improvement strategies.Based on the literature review,concept definition and current situation analysis,this research compiled a questionnaire and interview outline of parent participation status.A case investigation was carried out on the participation of parents of middle and senior grades in J primary school in Q city.Through the survey,it is found that there are the following four problems in the participation of parents in the middle and senior grades of J primary school: first,the purpose of participation is single,focusing on wisdom over morality;second,the participation opportunities are uneven,and they are generally excluded;third,the participation initiative is insufficient,and educational responsibility unknown;fourth,poor quality of participation and serious formalism.There are many reasons for these problems.This study mainly analyzes the following reasons: at the social level,lack of policies and regulations for parental participation,and cultural dilemmas in home-school interaction;at the school level,the parent participation system is not perfect,and the school chooses to ignore the needs of parents;at the teacher level,teachers have insufficient understanding of parent participation and lack objective conditions for communicating with parents;at the parent level,parents have cognitive limitations and lack objective conditions for participation.In view of the reasons for these problems,based on the core idea of the "double reduction" policy,this study proposes targeted promotion strategies for parent participation in middle and senior grades in primary schools from the perspectives of society,schools,teachers and parents.At the social level,implement policies and regulations to allow parents to participate in rules to follow;analyze the educational environment and explore the mode of parent participation with Chinese characteristics.At the school level,improve the school participation mechanism and improve the governance structure of the family committee;build a positive interaction between the family and the school,and strengthen the transmission of information between the two parties;establish a parent school to enhance the ability of parents to participate.At the teacher level,update teachers’ concepts and improve home-school relationships;organize diversified training to improve teachers’ home-school communication skills;set up dedicated teachers to supervise parent participation.At the parent level,improve the awareness of parent participation and change the concept of parents;enhance the ability of parents to participate,and enhance the sense of self-efficacy of parents. |
