As the social security system continues to improve, state support for de facto orphans is becoming more and more formalised and systematic,as de facto orphans face difficulties in growing up in the early stages of their development due to changes in their families. At present, the state focuses on the economic and survival aspects of de facto orphans, but neglects the psychological and educational needs of de facto orphans. The social interaction of de facto orphans is affected by their parents’ "absence" and is influenced by multiple dimensions: self, family, school and society. In order to address the social interaction problems of de facto orphans, the programme is based on the social support theory, the "mirror me" theory and the social learning theory, and is aimed at intervening in the psychological, family and community aspects of de facto orphans. In the group work,we help de facto orphans to eliminate their low self-esteem,enhance their confidence in interactions and reshape their self-concept;improve their social interaction skills and interact effectively with others in interactions;conduct "charity sales" and carry out a series of study activities to help group members get closer to real-life interactions and reduce their reliance on the Internet for social interaction. The group’s casework is used to work on issues that have not yet been resolved in the group, mainly on the relationship between the de facto orphans and their families,to correct the de facto orphans’ misconceptions about their current foster families and to improve their family education, thereby reducing tensions in family relationships and putting family interactions on the right track. Finally, reflecting on social work’s involvement in the social interaction of de facto orphans in the L community, the practical approach to social work is continuous rather than separate and disconnected, with timely reflection after group work and casework tailored to the particularities of each case;and,in the case work, with attention to the local context and a way to carry out casework. At the same time, social workers,as policy advisors, must also be a voice for de facto orphans, making policy recommendations to the relevant authorities and actively mobilising community workers to pay constant attention to the development and growth of de facto orphans.
