| Entering the digital age,IT education has been given a new mission and responsibility,and the cultivation of digital literacy among young people has become an important issue in the IT curriculum.Currently,the new IT curriculum in primary schools has been developed in a relatively short period of time and lacks a scientific and systematic teaching model to guide it.Students have difficulties in grasping the connotations of IT and their motivation to learn is significantly lower than expected.In order to improve the motivation level of learners in IT teaching and to optimise the teaching effect,a scientific and effective conceptualisation and design of IT curriculum motivation teaching must be carried out to implement motivation improvement into IT curriculum teaching activities.This thesis introduces the ARCS and TC models of motivation to guide the teaching and learning of IT courses.The model is designed and practised to investigate whether it can play a positive role in guiding the motivation levels of primary school students in IT courses.The specific work is as follows:Firstly,on the basis of theories such as learning behaviourism theory and self-efficacy,the concepts of teaching motivation and learning motivation were elaborated,and domestic and international research results related to this study were sorted out to lay the theoretical foundation for designing a motivation model focusing on motivation enhancement for primary school IT teaching.The study analyses the current situation of primary school students’ motivation in IT learning by using survey research method,and finds that students have low levels of motivation in terms of learning intensity,learning goal motivation and internal motivation drive,which clarifies the theoretical demands and practical needs for the design of a motivation model for primary school IT teaching with focus on motivation enhancement.Secondly,the study constructed a motivational model for primary school IT teaching based on self-efficacy theory,the TC model and the ARCS model.Firstly,after determining the principles for constructing the teaching motivation model,the study takes "problem solving" as the main line of teaching with the goal of enhancing primary school students’ motivation in IT learning,and constructs a primary school IT teaching motivation community under the guidance of the motivation elements of the ARCS model.Secondly,the study introduces the concept of TC model time continuum to guide the division of teaching incentive stages,and combines the four dimensions of ARCS model with inquiry-based teaching around problem solving to design primary school IT teaching incentive activities;at the same time,the study designs the teaching incentive environment in terms of both physical and psychological environment,supplemented by the design of teaching incentive evaluation.The above five elements work together to support the model’s instructional motivational role,forming the prototype of a motivational model for primary school IT teaching focusing on motivation enhancement.Thirdly,in order to verify the scientific validity of the model,three iterations of the model were carried out in this study,taking the IT module "Data and Coding" as an example,and after each iteration,classroom observation and group evaluation were used to analyse and reflect on the effect of students’ motivation enhancement in order to revise and improve the model.At the same time,after three rounds of iterative practice,the study conducted a questionnaire survey on the experimental subjects’ levels of motivation to learn IT before and after the teaching practice,and analysed the changes in the levels of various motivational factors of the experimental subjects.The results showed that the application of the teaching motivation model in this study could enhance the motivation of primary school students to learn IT.This thesis applies motivation to primary school IT teaching and proposes an effective motivation model for primary school IT teaching focusing on motivation enhancement,which provides new ideas for the teaching practice of IT subjects,enriches China’s research on IT curriculum teaching and provides a reference for the motivational teaching of primary school IT. |
