| In July 2021,the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued the Opinions on Further Reducing the Burden of Homework and Off-Campus Training for Students in Compulsory Education(hereinafter referred to as “ Double Reduction ”),which clearly proposed to comprehensively reduce the total amount of homework and the length of homework, and to reduce the excessive homework burden of students.Based on the general requirements of the “ double reduction ” policy, school education should implement the “ double reduction ” policy by optimizing the design of homework, improving the quality of extracurricular homework in mathematics, and focusing homework on the development of students’ core literacy in mathematics. The“double reduction”policy requires “reducing time but not effectiveness”,so how to optimize the structure and improve the quality of homework while controlling the total amount and length of homework has become an urgent problem for front-line teachers to consider and solve. In this study,980 students and 60 mathematics teachers from four elementary schools in C city were used as the respondents, and questionnaires and interviews were used to understand the current situation of mathematics extra-curricular homework in the upper grades of C city elementary schools.Second, through statistical analysis of the collected data,we found that under the “double reduction”policy,on the one hand, the extra-curricular homework in elementary school has shown promising changes, mainly in the form of a reduction in the total amount of homework,a proper control of homework time, and a reduction in students’ homework burden;on the other hand, the problems manifested in it are On the other hand, the problems are not negligible, such as: the design of homework is knowledge-based,with too much emphasis on knowledge practice and skills training;the sources of extra-curricular homework are fixed and narrow, limited to existing “ static text ”materials;the types of extra-curricular homework are single, which limits students’ thinking methods and quality development;the difficulty of extra-curricular homework tends to be uniform, ignoring the differences among students and their individual needs;and the main body of homework evaluation is single. The difficulty of extracurricular assignments tends to be uniform, ignoring the differences among students and their individual needs;there is a single subject for homework evaluation, and the evaluation and feedback methods lack Emotional care for students. One of the reasons for this is that the traditional concept of homework lags behind in the context of“double reduction”.Secondly, teachers’ professional skills are lacking, which further causes the disconnect between teaching philosophy and teaching practice.Thirdly, under the efficiency-oriented management system and the score-oriented evaluation mechanism, the layout and implementation of extra-curricular homework in elementary school mathematics are also constrained by them.Based on the above problems and reasons, this study proposes several optimization strategies in terms of“homework concepts, homework sources, homework forms, homework difficulty, and homework evaluation”: in terms of homework concepts, teachers should be helped to break free from traditional concepts, change their homework concepts, and improve their homework design skills through various measures;in terms of homework sources,it is necessary to In terms of homework sources,we should enrich homework sources and expand extracurricular homework resources in multiple ways;in terms of homework types,we should take literacy as the guide and design rich and diverse homework forms;in terms of homework difficulty,we should implement tiered homework and realize accurate homework arrangement;in terms of homework evaluation,we should further improve the evaluation mechanism and build a diversified homework evaluation system. |
