Preschool children mainly read picture books,picture books in the image of children provides a unique perspective for children to know themselves.In addition,the images of children in picture books are intuitive and demonstrative,with similar age characteristics to those of children in the real world.They are loved by children and easy to become the objects for them to learn and imitate,which occupy a pivotal position in picture books.The vivid and specific images of children in picture books not only show the external characteristics of children,but also reflect the internal characteristics of children,providing a new perspective for the study of children’s images.In this study,347 kinds of picture books recommended by the Ministry of Education involving children’s images were selected as research objects,and the research data were collected by literature method,content analysis method and interview method.In the research process,the author sorted out and sorted out the general situation of existing research on children image based on relevant literature,combined the analysis dimensions of children image in various fields and the development characteristics of the current era,learned from and modified the existing framework,and finally formulated the analysis framework.The framework proposes that the child image includes external image and internal image,and the external image consists of five analytical dimensions: gender,ethnicity,country,age and children’s health status.The inner image is composed of psychological level and moral level.Using the relevant knowledge of personality psychology and cognitive psychology,the author analyzes the inner psychological characteristics of children and the moral character shown by them.The psychological level includes emotional expression and character analysis,while the moral level includes four aspects: self,others,collective and nature.According to the analysis framework,the data of children images in picture books are analyzed statistically and quantitatively.Finally,the conclusion is drawn that there are differences in the number of male children and female children in picture books and there are gender stereotypes.The number of minority children is small and the image of children is not prominent;Foreign images of children are mostly from developed countries;Mainly depict contemporary children;Reflect special children;Children’s positive emotions dominate;Extroverted character children accounted for the majority;Children’s moral image is rich.Based on this,the author puts forward the education enlightenment from three aspects: picture book creators,preschool teachers and parents. |
