| This paper illustrates the first one hundred years’ history of Royal Academy of Arts(RA),discloses how social and culture environment shaped its unique institutional system which is quite different from most of European art academies.Analyzing the academy’s nonprofit teaching modes and the advantages of academician election system.It focuses on RA annual exhibitions,aiming to tell how exhibitions came into being and thrived in the time of public culture consumption.Demonstrate the process of selecting and arranging art works and committee’s respond to disturbs from outside.The paper finally transfers the view from external circumstances to art pieces in the exhibit room,discussing how the exhibitions have changed the visual looking of some art pieces. |
