Due to the impact of the global epidemic and the macroeconomic downturn,China’s foreign trade industry has also suffered a certain impact. In the face of practical challenges,cross-border e-commerce,an emerging trade form, provides greater opportunities for China’s trade exports. In the first half of 2020,China’s total export trade declined year-on-year,but cross-border e-commerce exports increased by 28.7%,which shows that under the new situation,cross-border e-commerce will become a new engine of China’s trade exports and even economic growth. In this context, this paper focuses on cross-border e-commerce to promote China’s export trade.Based on the existing research at home and abroad, this paper analyzes the mechanism of cross-border e-commerce affecting the development of China’s export trade, and conducts further empirical research,so as to provide countermeasures and suggestions for the healthy development of China’s cross-border e-commerce and export trade.Based on the above analysis, this paper takes the impact of cross-border e-commerce on China’s export trade as the main line of research.Firstly, the mechanism of cross-border e-commerce on the improvement of export trade is analyzed from four aspects: infrastructure, transaction scale, development potential and human capital. Then, this paper selects 16second-level indicators from four dimensions of infrastructure, transaction size, development potential and human capital to construct the index system for measuring the development level of cross-border e-commerce.The comprehensive index of development level of cross-border e-commerce is calculated by coefficient of variation. This paper uses the trade gravity model and adds the comprehensive index of the development level of cross-border e-commerce to do panel regression analysis. Finally, this paper constructs a regression model to analyze the long-term stable relationship between the development level of cross-border e-commerce and China’s export trade, and analyzes the impact of the development of different aspects of cross-border e-commerce on the improvement of China’s export trade. The study found that,on the whole, the development of cross-border e-commerce is conducive to the increase of China’s export trade. In terms of sub-indexes,human capital index and transaction level index have a greater impact on China’s export trade volume, while infrastructure index and development potential index have no obvious impact.According to the theoretical analysis and empirical research results, and combined with the specific situation of the current cross-border e-commerce development in China, this paper from the macro and micro aspects of the use of cross-border e-commerce to promote the increase of China’s export volume of countermeasures and suggestions. From the macro perspective,it mainly includes cultivating cross-border e-commerce talents, perfecting cross-border e-commerce legal system, and building a safe cross-border e-commerce network environment to improve human capital index and transaction level index. At the same time, the government needs to increase investment in infrastructure to break through the current bottleneck,so as to improve the data and intelligence of cross-border e-commerce.At the micro level, enterprises need to locate and make plans, integrate internal and external resources, and actively apply cross-border e-commerce technology.
