Marx’s theory of international division of labor is an important part of Marxism with rich and profound connotations. On the one hand,Marx’s theory of international labor division originates from the historical investigation of social reality at that time,on the other hand,it originates from the critical inheritance of previous achievements. It critically inherits and develops Smith,Ricardo and List’s thoughts of international division of labor.Marx’s theory of international labor division originated in the Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts of 1844,formed in the German Ideology, the Communist Manifesto and the Poverty of Philosophy, and deepened in the Capitalism and its manuscripts. From the perspective of labor division motivation, international labor division is an inevitable product of the development of productivity to a certain stage. From the scope of labor division, international labor division is the expansion of labor division beyond national boundaries in the world. From the perspective of the subject of labor division, international labor division is the labor differentiation and combination between different countries and regional economies. From the nature of labor division, international labor division is the means and way of capital proliferation and expansion. The development phase of the international division of labour can be divided into the international division of labour between colonial and sovereign States, between agricultural and industrial States and within the industrial sector. The international labor division has a dual impact in the historical process. On the one hand, the international labor division promotes the popularization of capitalist mode of production and modern civilization worldwide by promoting the huge development of productivity, and promotes the transformation of narrow national history into universal world hi story, providing realistic foundation and class conditions for the arrival of communism. On the other hand, the international labor division is essentially dominated by capitalism, resulting in unequal trade and exploitation and frequent global economic crises. With the continuous movement and change of the world economic pattern, the contemporary forms of international labor division show the characteristics of diversified forms of labor division, weakened national boundaries of labor division, and improved division system.China is in the low-end position of global industrial chain, value chain and supply chain in the current international labor division. It is of great practical significance to re-explore Marx’s theory of international labor division.Firstly,it provides ideological guidance for the construction of domestic and foreign dual circulation, and contributes guiding strategies to explore the external support of domestic and foreign dual circulation, the main problems faced by the international economic circulation and how to resist international economic risks.Secondly,it provides a theoretical foundation for the construction of an open world economy, helps to correctly understand the current development trend of economic globalization, improve the level of opening up and participate in global economic governance.Thirdly,it provides practical guidance for the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.the Belt and Road Initiative will benefit a wider range of countries and regions, promote the construction of a community of shared future for mankind and achieve common prosperity and development of all mankind by improving independent innovation capability, implementing mutually beneficial and win-win strategies and building a new model of international division of labor.
