Study On The Impact Of Urbanization On The Upgrading Of Industrial Structure In Brazil

The implementation of the import substitution industrialization strategy after the Second World War and the post-war period pushed Brazil’s industrial development to a new historical stage.Brazil’s urbanization rate is continuously increasing.Urbanization is a new driving force for economic and social development after industrialization.It’s development level is not only related to the proportion of urban population,but also to the quality of urbanization construction.At the same time,the upgrading of industrial structure is a powerful driving force for economic growth.After World War II,although Brazil’s industrial structure has been continuously adjusted and optimized,there are still many problems,which have brought a series of negative effects to social and economic development.At present,urbanization and upgrading of industrial structure are the two major priorities of global economic development.For China,which is also a developing country,the Chinese government has paid great attention to urbanization and industrial structure development.Therefore,studying the impact of Brazil’s urbanization on industrial structure can provide a good reference for my country’s development.First of all,this paper analyzes the mechanism of urbanization on industrial structure upgrading.Secondly,through the realistic analysis of the impact of urbanization in Brazil on the upgrading of industrial structure,this paper believes that although urbanization has accelerated the transfer of labor to non-agricultural industries,the quality of labor is not high,the urban infrastructure is not perfect,and the environment brought about by the rapid urbanization process The problems of pollution and the asynchronous development of urbanization and industrialization have hindered the optimization and upgrading of Brazil’s industrial structure.In order to discuss the impact of urbanization development on the upgrading of industrial structure in more depth,based on Brazilian data,this paper constructs a comprehensive evaluation index of urbanization,as well as the upgrading of high-level industrial structure(TS)and the upgrading of rational industrial structure(TL)measurement indicators,and introduces Control variables to construct an Autoregressive distributed lagged model(ARDL model)between the comprehensive evaluation index of urbanization and the upgrading of industrial structure for further empirical analysis.The empirical results show that the development of urbanization can effectively promote the rational industrial structure,but it has not effectively promoted the high-level industrial structure.Therefore,Brazil should establish a more complete urbanization system in terms of population,economy,society and ecology,focusing on improving the quality of urbanization,coordinating the urbanization process and the development of industrial structure,giving play to regional characteristics,focusing on the development of advantageous industries,through measures such as policy incentives and resource allocation promoting the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure.Finally,based on the above research,this paper summarizes the enlightenment to China.
