| Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up,China’s social productive forces have achieved leapfrog development, and the extensive industrial development model has gradually been replaced.High-quality economic development has increasingly become a consensus, rather than just a one-sided pursuit of high-speed economic growth. At the same time, the structure of China’s three industries has also shown obvious changes, from the manufacturing-led economic development to the coordinated development and complementarity of manufacturing and service industries. The proportion of service industry in China’s GDP has increased continuously, which has injected new vitality into high-quality economic development. The interaction and integration of service industry and manufacturing industry has become an irreversible trend, and the promotion effect of their integration on industrial upgrading has become a hot issue in academic research.Producer services not only play an important role in enhancing the value chain status of manufacturing enterprises by virtue of its attribute advantages, but also bring new development opportunities for industrial transformation and upgrading through its integration with manufacturing industry. This paper mainly tries to explain two aspects:(1)To what extent and through what mechanism can the integration of producer services and manufacturing promote the industrial upgrading of manufacturing industry?(2)Is there heterogeneity in the promoting effect of the integration of different producer services and manufacturing industries on economic development? In order to solve the above problems, this paper uses the relevant data of China Industrial Enterprise Database,China Statistical Yearbook and World Input-output database to match the balanced panel data at the industry level from 2000 to 2013,and calculates the degree of the integration of The two industries in China and compares it with other developed economies. The results show that there is an obvious gap between the degree of integration of the two industries in China and the developed countries. In order to study the impact of the integration of two industries on the upgrading of manufacturing industry, this paper analyzes it by constructing a multiple regression model, and the empirical results show that the improvement of the integration of two industries can significantly improve the total factor productivity of manufacturing industry. In terms of industry segmentation, the integration of medium and high technology intensive producer services, especially technology r&d and design services and financial services and manufacturing,is more conducive to their value appreciation, while China excessively relies on the promotion role of low technology producer services. Therefore,in the context of China’s economy stepping into the new normal,it is necessary to further promote the deep integration of high-end producer services and manufacturing, establish and improve the mechanism of industrial integration and interconnection, and promote China’s manufacturing industry to a higher level and higher quality.By introducing intermediary variables, this paper empirically tests the cost effect and innovation-driven effect of the integration of two industries in promoting the upgrading of manufacturing industry, and the results show that: Two industry integration level of ascension, not only can greatly increase the cost of manufacturing enterprises profit margins, also can through the way of drive technology innovation power transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry, and this will be for our country to accelerate the convergence process under the new era, increased investment in industrial innovation,long-term sustainable mechanism of industrial transformation and upgrading to provide powerful basis. |
