| Optimizing the pattern of coordinated regional development is an important part of the 14th Five-Year Plan of Guangdong Province and is also an important guarantee for Guangdong to meet new challenges, increase new advantages, and strive to achieve the formation of a new pattern of high-level comprehensive opening and high-quality development. As a region with significant regional economic differences,Guangdong Province is the richest and the poorest,so it should make a breakthrough in coordinated regional economic development. Therefore, against this background, this paper takes 21 prefecture-level cities in Guangdong as the research objects, applies the theory of regional disequilibrium and other related theories, and draws on the existing research results at home and abroad to study the dynamic evolution in time and the spatial distribution trend in two dimensions and three scales of provincialregional-prefecture-level cities,to more scientifically judge the current characteristics of the level of coordinated regional economic development in Guangdong, and on this basis to explore its influencing factors.Firstly, this paper comprehensively measures the level of regional coordinated economic development at three scales in Guangdong province, four regions including the Pearl River Delta and prefecture-level cities from three aspects of regional economic linkages, regional economic growth, and regional economic differences, and the results show that: the level of regional coordinated economic development in the province has increased, and the evolutionary trend of the level of coordinated economic development within the four regions is not the same, and all of them have decreased in 2020 due to the impact of the epidemic.Using the Dagum Gini coefficient and spatial kernel density estimation method to analyze the regional coordinated economic development at the prefecture-level city scale, the results show that: the differences in regional coordinated economic development in Guangdong are mainly due to the differences in coordinated economic development among the four regions, and according to the spatial kernel density curve study, the side peaks were prominent in the early period of the study, which indicates that the polarization phenomenon is more serious, and the height of the main peak increased in the later period without the side peaks, indicating an increase in the level of coordinated regional economic development.Secondly,in terms of the influencing factors of coordinated regional economic development in Guangdong, this study examines the spatial spillover effects of the influencing factors, and the results show that factors such as labor, industry, and import and export have significant positive spatial spillover effects, while factors such as capital, finance, transportation, and innovation may have positive spatial spillover effects on the level of coordinated regional economic development, but the effects are not significant because the coefficients do not pass the significance test. The decomposition results of the spatial spillover effect of prefecture-level cities show that: the spatial spillover effect of the factors of prefecture-level cities in the PRD region is obvious and the effect size is in the upper reaches of 21 prefecture-level cities in Guangdong province;Shantou,as the economic leader of the central city in the eastern wing, should drive the coordinated development of the surrounding regions, but the spatial spillover effect is not obvious;Maoming,as the central city in the western wing, its spatial spillover effect value is in the middle and lower reaches of 21prefecture-level cities in Guangdong. The spatial spillover effect value of Shaoguan is the last among 21 prefecture-level cities in Guangdong, and Shaoguan has lost its status as the economic center of the mountainous areas in northern Guangdong, which does not match its status as the central city of mountainous areas. |
