The new round of global industrial and technological revolution is accelerating,the mode of scientific and technological innovation activities is developing from linear and chain-oriented to networked and non-linear characteristics,and the collaborative innovation mode based on the cooperation of multiple subjects and cross-regional collaboration is increasingly becoming a new innovation organization form for innovative countries to cultivate core competitiveness and realize innovation-driven.With the gradual release of demographic dividend,capital dividend and institutional dividend,the comparative advantage of domestic regional industries in terms of low cost is disappearing rapidly,and the economic development is entering a new normal of growth speed shifting,industrial transformation and upgrading,and new and old dynamic energy transformation.It is crucial to activate innovation capacity through regional collaborative innovation,promote regional structural optimization and industrial upgrading,transform from a catch-up economy to an innovative economy,and transform from relying on comparative advantages to shaping competitive advantages.As the frontier of China’s reform and opening-up and an important spatial carrier for global competition,the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area’s collaborative innovation development is a key initiative for China to further enrich the connotation of "one country,two systems",promote the integration of Hong Kong and Macao into the overall development of the country,and build a model of high-quality development.It is a key initiative to explore new mechanisms,new modes and new paths of regional collaborative innovation,build a more open and integrated regional collaborative innovation community,and create an international science and technology innovation center with global influence,which is an important support to enhance the leading role of innovation in the Greater Bay Area and strengthen the influence,voice and competitiveness of China in the global innovation map.This paper deeply analyzes the internal operation mechanism of regional collaborative innovation and its influence effect on innovation efficiency,divides regional collaborative innovation into two levels of innovation subject synergy and innovation space synergy from the perspective of dynamic flow of elements,and constructs a theoretical framework of regional collaborative innovation by combining the theoretical bases of knowledge spillover effect,scale economy effect and spatial association effect.Using 20 years of data related to innovation industries in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area from 2001 to 2020 as research samples,factor-driven,structure-driven,environment-driven factors and spatial correlation are incorporated into a unified analytical framework,and the influence of subject synergy and spatial synergy on innovation efficiency in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is studied by establishing a spatial econometric model,which has strong theoretical and practical significance.The research results show that the distribution of innovation industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area develops from polarization to a balanced layout,and the overall innovation efficiency shows an upward trend,but there are still large differences among cities.Overall,there is a reverse spatial correlation between the innovation efficiency of neighboring cities,and the improvement of the degree of subject synergy and spatial synergy has a significant promotion effect on the future improvement of innovation efficiency within cities and in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as a whole,but its influence on the innovation efficiency of neighboring cities is not significant.In the future,cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area need to strengthen the docking of rules and systems,improve the mechanism of collaborative innovation development,maximize the spillover effect,synergy effect and radiation effect of science and technology innovation,and provide strong support for building a highland of science and technology and industrial innovation with global influence.
