| Agriculture is the cornerstone of the national economy and an important guarantee for the development of the secondary and tertiary industries. In order to improve the enthusiasm of farmers ’ production and solve the problem of food and clothing,at the beginning of reform and opening up,the country took the lead in the reform of land use system in rural areas, the implementation of the household contract responsibility system, greatly mobilize the enthusiasm of farmers ’ production,so that China ’ s agriculture has been unprecedented development. However, with the establishment of the market economy system, the gap between urban and rural areas continues to expand, coupled with the rapid rise of the second and third industries, the loss of labor in rural areas is serious, and agricultural development is facing new problems such as the abandonment of arable land caused by excessive labor transfer, the intensification of the contradiction between small farmers and the market, and the obstruction of the development of modern agriculture. In order to change this situation, the CPC Central Committee actively promotes the construction of new business entities in rural areas, and promotes the sustainable development of agricultural industry by vigorously developing farmers ’ professional cooperatives and closely linking small farmers with the sales market. However, with the rapid development of farmers ’ professional cooperatives, they also face a series of problems such as small scale and nonstandard operation, which has hit farmers ’ enthusiasm for participation.Especially in remote mountainous areas, due to its poor agricultural foundation, farmers ’ participation is not high, seriously restricting the development of farmers ’ professional cooperatives. Therefore,in order to promote the sustainable development of farmers ’ professional cooperatives in remote mountainous areas,it is necessary to explore the main factors affecting farmers ’ participation in farmers ’ professional cooperatives, and put forward effective suggestions for promoting farmers ’ active participation. This paper takes Badong County as the research area, adopts literature synthesis method, questionnaire survey and field interview method, and the combination of theory and empirical research methods.Based on collective action theory, transaction cost theory, property right theory, scale economy theory and cooperative economy theory, this paper first analyzes the influencing factors of farmers ’ participation in farmers ’ professional cooperatives in remote mountainous areas.Secondly, the development of farmers ’ professional cooperatives and the status of farmers ’ joining cooperatives in Badong County of the study area are analyzed in detail. Finally, this paper investigates the influencing factors of farmers ’ participation in farmers ’professional cooperatives in the study area, finds the main factors affecting farmers ’participation in farmers ’ professional cooperatives through binary Logistic regression model, and puts forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions to promote farmers’ participation in cooperatives. The main research contents and conclusions are as follows :(1)Construct the theoretical framework of this paper : Firstly, define the two important concepts of farmers ’ professional cooperatives and remote mountainous areas;then the theoretical basis related to this study is expounded, namely, collective action theory, transaction cost theory, property right theory, scale economy theory and cooperative economy theory.(2)The influencing factors of farmers ’ participation in farmers ’ professional cooperatives in remote mountainous areas are analyzed theoretically : Firstly, the positive significance of developing farmers ’ professional cooperatives in remote mountainous areas and the difficulties faced by cooperatives are expounded in detail;secondly,it explains the motivation of farmers to join cooperatives from four aspects, namely, reducing production costs and improving farmers ’ income, improving the market competitiveness of agricultural products, improving the management level of farmers themselves, and protecting the rights and interests of farmers.Thirdly,it explains the characteristics of farmers ’ professional cooperatives in remote mountainous areas. Finally, the factors that affect farmers ’ participation in farmers ’professional cooperatives in remote mountainous areas are sorted out and elaborated. The various influencing factors are classified into five types, namely, individual factors of farmers, economic factors, social factors, development level of cooperatives and policy factors, and the mechanism of various factors is revealed.(3)The development status of farmers ’ professional cooperatives in the study area and the status of farmers ’ participation in cooperatives are analyzed : Firstly,a brief overview of the situation in the study area;secondly, the development status of cooperatives in the study area is analyzed and expounded from the three aspects of the number, scale, type and organization form of farmers ’ professional cooperatives.Again, the status of farmers into the community analysis, mainly from the number of farmers, business direction and the basic situation of farmers to explain;finally, the reason why it is necessary to deeply analyze the influencing factors of farmers ’ participation in farmers ’ professional cooperatives in Badong County.(4)Investigation and analysis on influencing factors of farmers ’ joining farmers ’professional cooperatives in remote mountainous areas.First, the survey program is designed;secondly, descriptive statistical analysis of the data;finally, the binary logistic regression model is used to empirically analyze the factors affecting farmers ’participation in farmers ’ professional cooperatives. The results show that the prominent factors affecting farmers ’ participation in farmers ’ professional cooperatives are : the educational level of farmers, the cognitive level of farmers ’ professional cooperatives, whether there are agricultural products sales problems, the scale of farmers ’professional cooperatives, whether there are technical training and product acquisition services and transportation.(5)Suggestions on promoting farmers to join farmers ’ professional cooperatives.According to the conclusions of the empirical analysis, the corresponding suggestions are put forward to promote farmers to join farmers ’ professional cooperatives :strengthen infrastructure construction in remote mountainous areas, improve road traffic conditions;expanding the scale of cooperatives and improving the quality;improve the internal mechanism of cooperatives, improve operational management level;expand the scope of services, improve the level of services;carry out the training of farmers ’ production skills and improve the cultural and technological level of farmers;increase government supervision, improve the regulatory system;expand publicity methods, broaden publicity content, improve farmers ’ awareness.Through the implementation of these suggestions, farmers in remote mountainous areas can actively join farmers ’ professional cooperatives, promote the sustainable development of farmers ’ professional cooperatives in the region, further consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation and help rural revitalization. |
