In the last several decades,with a continuous expanding on economy,our nation’s civil aviation industry has experienced a rapid growth.As of 2020,our land territory is estimated at approximately 9.6 million square kilometers.According to the 7th Census of Population 2021,our nation’s population has reached 1.412 billion.Clearly,we have a large population with a big land.Additionally,in the globe there are another more than 6 billion people living on five continents.There is apparently a huge need for transpirations to move people and goods around.Examples of major transportation methods include private cars,high speed railways,ships,and airplanes.Each of these transportations is used by many people,and many service providers co-exist in each of these means of transportations.The completions between various companies in the broadly defined fields of transportation business are intense.Colorful Guizhou Airlines,as a regional airline,face tough competitions.To succeed in such a highly competitive environment,it is critical to choose a well-positioned competitive strategy.Research on the competitive strategy of Colorful Guizhou Airlines shall not only enrich the theoretical basis of the company’s competitive strategy,but also offer an inspirational case of reference and potential guidelines for other similar companies in the civil aviation business.This thesis study employs PEST analysis model,SWOT analytical method,Michael Porter model,and Value Chain Model.It also uses literature analysis,inductive analysis,case analysis,and theoretical analysis and reasoning.Through these models and analytical methods,this thesis examines and analyzes the internal and external environments of Colorful Guizhou Airlines.The conditions that favor low-cost competitive strategy,strategy focusing on specific market segments,and differentiated competitive strategy are all compared.The degrees of matching between these conditions and the company’s resources and strengths are estimated.The thesis study concludes that the strategy chosen by Colorful Guizhou Airlines is a low-cost competitive strategy.
