| At present,China’s economy has shifted to high-quality development stage. The digital economy has penetrated into social development.Driven by continuous information technology innovation,Its direct connection with services has become increasingly close, and it has become an important force in promoting the sustainable development of the producer services.Based on panel data of 282 cities from 2011 to 2019,this paper explores the impact of digital economy on productive service agglomeration.Firstly,an indicator system of urban digital economy development level is constructed from four aspects: digital industry foundation, digital integration application, social development support and innovation ability.Meanwhile,The agglomeration level of producer services in each city is measured and compared by using location entropy index.Secondly, the paper deeply analyzes the effect of digital economy on producer services agglomeration from two perspectives of centripetal force and centrifugal force of industrial agglomeration, and constructs a theoretical model combining with the theory of new economic geography. Finally, the Spatial Durbin Model and Spatial DID Model of panel data are further used to empirically test the spatial effects, policy effects, heterogeneity of region, industry, city scale and urban agglomeration, and transmission mechanism. The results show that:First,in terms of urban digital economy development, the level of digital economy development in municipalities directly under the central Government, provincial capitals and cities in coastal areas was relatively high from 2011 to 2019,and the average level of digital economy development in the eastern region was much higher than that in the central and western regions, and the average level of digital economy development in the central and western regions was similar. On the whole,it shows a decreasing trend from the east coast to the Midwest. In terms of urban agglomeration of producer services, various regions in China between 2011 and 2019 the average urban agglomeration of producer services level is low,but the average professional agglomeration and diversified agglomeration level improved, and by comparison, the development trend of the eastern region as a whole tend to be more diversified agglomeration, and more inclined to areas of specialization of agglomeration in central China.Second,in the digital economy affect the path of producer services agglomeration aspects, firstly, the digital economic development can promote the formation of producer services agglomeration of centripetal force to promote the agglomeration, can produce embodied in technology spillovers and expand knowledge, improve informatization level of the city by technology innovation and promote industrial upgrading, and attract agglomeration;Secondly, the development of digital economy can promote the agglomeration by hindering the centrifugal force that forms the agglomeration of producer services, which can effectively adjust the size of cities and reduce the government’s intervention in producer services.Thirdly, based on the spatial Dubin model, this paper tests the spatial effect, policy effect, heterogeneity and transmission mechanism of digital economic development on producer services agglomeration.First of all,,the spatial effect test results show that the improvement of the development level of the digital economy has a significant and strong direct promotion effect on the agglomeration of the producer services in the city, while it has no significant impact on the agglomeration of the producer services in the surrounding cities. The regional specialization agglomeration and diversification agglomeration of producer services in this city and its surrounding cities have significant and strong promoting and inhibiting effects respectively.Secondly, the policy effect test results show that the improvement of digital economy development level has a significant promoting effect on the agglomeration of local urban producer services, while it has a significant inhibitory effect on cities in surrounding areas.Thirdly, the regional heterogeneity test finds that the improvement of digital economy level of cities in the eastern, central and western regions can significantly promote the agglomeration of producer services in their own cities, but the impact on neighboring cities is significantly different. The industry heterogeneity inspection finds that the development of urban digital economy for transportation, warehousing and postal service, information transmission, software and information technology services and local financial industry agglomeration has significant positive influence, and to the surrounding city of information transmission, software and information technology services and there is significant inhibition and promote financial industry agglomeration effect. The urban scale heterogeneity test finds that the development of digital economy in different scales cities has a significant promoting effect on the agglomeration of producer services in the city, which will be enhanced with the expansion of city size, but the improvement of the digital economy development level of medium-sized cities has a certain hindering effect on the agglomeration of producer services in surrounding cities.Urban agglomeration heterogeneity test results found that in addition to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Urban Agglomeration, increase in other digital economy development level of urban agglomerations in this city of producer services agglomeration has significant role in promoting, and in the pearl river delta urban agglomeration effect is most obvious, and represented by Chengdu-Chongqing Urban Agglomeration and Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration,The development of its digital economy can also significantly promote the agglomeration of producer services in surrounding cities.Fourth, the empirical test of the transmission mechanism proves that digital economy can promote the agglomeration of producer services in cities by promoting knowledge spillovers from inside and outside the industry, improving the informationalized level, promoting industrial upgrading, adjusting the scale of cities, and reducing the degree of government intervention. Finally, this paper puts forward specific suggestions to promote the coordinated development of digital economy and producer services,to accelerate the digital construction of state-owned enterprises and governments, and to promote the extensive and deep integration of technological research and economic society. |
