| Under the demand of promoting high-quality export development and building powerful Digital China,it is of great significance to explore the impact of city digitalization on exports.Based on the China Customs,National Bureau of Statistics of China,China City Statistical Yearbook database,etc and from the perspective of cities,this paper uses the principal component analysis method to construct city digitalization index and adopts fixed effect model to empirically examines the promotion effect of improving city digitalization level on exports.The research finds that(1)city digitalization has a positive and significant effect to the expansion of exports.(2)The impact of city digitalization on exports is heterogeneous.The promotion effect on the central and western cities,non-provincial capitals and non-coastal cities is significant.More specifically,the promotion effect on the central and western cities and non-provincial capitals is significant at the level of 1%,and the promotion effect on the non-coastal cities is significant at the level of 5%.To the east cities,provincial capitals and municipality directly under the central government,as well as coastal cities,the effect of city digitalization on exports is not obvious. |
