| In the big picture of the new normal of economy,the consumption demand of residents is suppressed by various factors,and the lack of motivation in consumption becomes the main obstacle to the sustained high-quality growth of our country’s economy.With the true power in developing our country’s commercial and trade circulation industry being neglected and the industrial development seriously unbalanced,the irreplaceable role of commercial and trade circulation industry in connecting production and consumption has been revealed.The urban-rural dual structure has resulted in a major difference in the development of urban and rural areas in our country,and the difference in the consumption level of urban and rural residents is inevitable.This huge gap hinders the continuous improvement of the consumption level our country.On this basis,it is of great practical significance to study the influence of the development level of the commercial and trade circulation industry on the urban-rural consumption gap.This paper firstly expounds the influence mechanism of the commercial and trade circulation industry on the urban-rural consumption gap,as well as the current situation of the development of the commercial and trade circulation industry and the urban-rural consumption gap in our country.From three perspectives of the development potential of the commercial and trade circulation industry,the principal component analysis method is used to calculate the comprehensive index of the development of the commercial and trade circulation industry;thirdly,this paper uses the panel data of 30 provinces,cities and regions in China(Tibet excluded)from 2011 to 2019 to demonstrate the theory.To verify,through the establishment of fixed effect and dynamic panel regression model,the impact of commercial and trade circulation industry development on urban-rural consumption gap was studied,and the robustness and heterogeneity of East,Central and West regions were tested;finally,the mediation effect model was used to test the mediating effect.Through empirical research,this paper draws the following conclusions:(1)The development level of the commercial and trade circulation industry helps narrow the consumption gap between urban and rural residents and promotes the consumption effect of urban and rural residents.(2)After introducing the urban-rural consumption gap with a one-period lag,it is found that the urban-rural consumption gap in the previous period has a significant impact on the current gap,indicating that there is a significant positive influence relation between the two adjacent urban-rural consumption gaps in each province in our country.(3)The development level of the commercial and trade circulation industry will narrow the urban-rural consumption gap indirectly through the influence of the industrial structure and the level of urbanization.Under the conclusions drawed by empirical research,in consideration of the development level of our country’s commercial and trade circulation industry and the current situation of the consumption gap between urban and rural residents,this paper proposed corresponding measures and suggestions. |
