| With the continuous development of the economy and society,a series of problems have emerged in China, such as low energy efficiency and weak resistance to interference, which have brought many challenges to the development of China’s energy system. At present,China is entering a stage of high-quality development, which requires the support of a high-quality energy system. The previous speed-regulated growth model, which relied on high inputs and low outputs, will be gradually transformed into a quality-efficiency growth model with synergistic development of energy efficiency and resilience. In view of this,it is important to study how to ensure the synergistic development of energy efficiency and resilience while pursuing their steady improvement,in order to realise the high-quality development of China’s energy system. This paper takes 30 provincial-level administrative regions from 2001 to 2020 as the research objects, measures energy efficiency and resilience in each region of China using dynamic stochastic non-parametric data envelope model and CRITIC-entropy power combination model respectively, portrays the trend of synergistic evolution of the two through the Harken model, and analyses the spatial trends of energy efficiency, energy resilience and the level of synergy between the two using the Moran index. The study shows that: firstly, although the energy efficiency level in China shows a fluctuating upward trend, the average value of energy efficiency in all regions is less than 1,and the overall level of energy efficiency is low.Energy efficiency values in China show a distribution pattern of eastern region >northeastern region > central region > western region, and there is a positive spatial correlation between energy efficiency in each region, with the overall phenomenon of "high-high" and "low-low" spatial correlation.Second, although the energy resilience of China’s regions is on the rise,it is still at a low level overall. The spatial distribution pattern of energy resilience shows that the eastern region > the northeastern region > the central region > the western region. The spatial agglomeration effect of China’s energy resilience has increased, showing a highhigh and low-low agglomeration state.Thirdly, energy efficiency is the sequential parameter of the synergistic evolution of energy efficiency and resilience in China, and the synergistic evolution of energy efficiency and resilience in each region shows a U-shaped trend in general. The synergistic values of energy efficiency and resilience show a distribution pattern of eastern region > northeastern region > central region > western region, with high-high and low-low clustering in space.Based on the above findings, this paper proposes the following strategies:optimise inputs and outputs to improve energy efficiency;co-ordinate different areas to enhance energy resilience;and strengthen interconnection to promote the synergistic development of energy efficiency and resilience. |
