Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic,all the international freight forwarding companies have been deeply affected.There have been shortages of personnel,inefficiencies and declining turnover rates in all transport links.Container shortage,warehouse explosion and high freight rates have become the norm.Many countries have temporarily closed ports,disrupted cargo flow routes,introduced new policies and regulations at ports,and temporarily added special supporting documents.The entire international transport process has been magnified,the operational time limit for each shipment has been extended,leading to significant challenges for the international freight forwarding companies.Affected by this,the overall business of Company TX has shown a downward trend,with imbalanced business development in various branches.Some branch offices have experienced a severe decline in business volume,resulting in workload saturation,while some branch offices have experienced a phased surge in business.In order to cope with the impact of external factors on TX Company’s business,TX Company must make new structural adjustments and process design,establish a more coordinated and effective operating mode,and achieve the effect of cost reduction and efficiency increase.This article aims to optimize the operational process of Company TX,with the operational process of TX International Freight Forwarding Company as the research object.Based on the logical relationship between theoretical support,case study and policy recommendations,the study is divided into six chapters.Firstly,the literature was reviewed to analyze the current status of international freight forwarding,process optimization,and research on operational process optimization.The relevant theories and methods of operational process optimization used in the paper were also introduced.By using the methods of flowchart analysis,fishbone diagram analysis,and case analysis,the current status of the four major operational processes of Company TX,including inquiry and quotation process,insurance process,customs declaration and inspection process and tracking process is elaborated in detail.Combined with the actual situation of Company TX,the above main processes are deeply analyzed to diagnose the problems in the operational process and the reasons for these problems.It has been found that Company TX has six typical and prominent problems: prominent duplication of labor,uneven workload distribution,uneven operational levels,non-standard abnormal reporting processes and weak information technology support.Through the use of Benchmarking theory and ESIA principles,the fundamental nature of the operational process of TX International Freight Forwarding Company is rethought.From optimizing organizational structure,unifying management platform,creating professional operation teams,clarifying the division of labor and responsibilities of each position,introducing emergency response measures for abnormal events,and optimizing the process through information technology,the optimization measures for the operational process of TX International Freight Forwarding Company are proposed.Optimize the organizational structure of TX Company,improve the original division of responsibilities,and reshape the operational process to further improve operational efficiency,promote the improvement of key indicators such as operational error rate and service quality,thereby promoting TX Company’s survival and development in the crisis,gradually improving the company’s operational efficiency,and striving to achieve the company’s strategic business goals.It’s not only can improve the operational efficiency of TX International Freight Forwarding Company,but also can provide scientific reference for other similar industries.
