| Under the background of population aging and rapid economic development, most young people in rural areas choose to work or settle down in cities, while the elderly choose to stay in the village to live, thus emerging the special group of left-behind elderly. Many elderly left-behind in rural areas are unable to guarantee three normal meals a day, often appear "cook a meal for a day","reeat leftovers","steamed bread with salted vegetables" and other phenomena,long-term living alone also leads to less communication with the outside world, the spiritual and cultural life is monotonous, not conducive to the physical and mental health of the elderly left-behind and the harmonious development of society. The old people left behind in rural areas have low economic income. The main source of income is not much pension money, and the labor income is limited. The pension expenditure is increasing, and the quality of life is not high,so they are in a relatively balanced state of low income and low expenditure. The elderly in rural areas, left behind due to low economic income, inadequate life care,a lack of medical security and lagging rural pension services, must be given the attention they deserve to resolve their pension security issues. There is still a big gap between the elderly left behind in rural areas to live a carefree old age.The rural economy of S Town in D City has a certain foundation, with agriculture as the main part and underdeveloped industry. It is a microcosm among many agricultural towns and is representative of economically underdeveloped towns. This paper conducted field research in S Town to gain insight into the pension status of elderly people left behind in rural areas, taking into account economic income, life care, spiritual and cultural life, and physical health.Through questionnaire survey and interview, the analysis and study of the local situation,as well as the significant factors impacting the pension of the elderly left behind in rural areas, was conducted from the perspectives of individuals, families, government, and society. The following three aspects constitute the content of this paper: suggestions from individuals, families, governments, and societies on improving the quality of rural left-behind elderly care. After an exhaustive probe,it was discovered that the elderly left in rural areas are in a precarious situation;their quality of life is generally unsatisfactory, their contentment is not remarkable, and numerous issues exist. This is especially true in S Town, where they are living in a state of disrepair. Most of them live with their spouses or alone and lack the daily care of their children. The elderly, left behind in rural areas, suffer greatly from a lack of spiritual life and entertainment, leading to an increased mental pressure.Furthermore, their physical condition is generally good, with basic diseases receiving basic treatment;however, some sudden diseases cannot be treated effectively, and insurance reimbursement is not high. The activities are mainly in the streets of the village, nearby supermarkets and village fairs, where the elderly people are looking forward to their children returning home for the Spring Festival. The income of the family is derived from personal labor, children’s support, pension and other sources, while the cost of the pension is mainly derived from daily basic living costs, medical and medicine expenses, and human relations. In terms of income and expenditure, the balance between pension income and pension expenditure is low.By examining the issues of the elderly left behind in rural areas,we can gain a more comprehensive comprehension of the factors that contribute to this issue.Secondly, this analysis will focus on the factors that influence the pension of the elderly in rural areas. We should consider these factors from the four aspects of individual, family, government and society, and formulate corresponding policies based on local economic and social development conditions and policies.Through the analysis of the basic life, health and medical conditions, spiritual comfort, support payments and other issues of the elderly left behind in rural areas,it can be found that the root causes of these problems are the decline of the traditional family pension model, the low income level of the elderly left behind in rural areas, the backward rural pension service system, the insufficiency of the government’s basic social security system.Suggestions to enhance the quality of life of those aged who have been left behind in rural areas should be considered third.A four-in-one pension system, combining personal pension fundamentals, family pension basics, national pension security backstop, social pension supplementary and other measures to enhance rural left-behind elderly care, has been proposed to address the pension issues of the elderly. To make his old age happy. |
