Since the Reform and Opening-up,The National Bureau of Statistics has uncovered a remarkable surge in China’s economic expansion and urbanization,with the rate of urbanization having attained a peak.From 22% in 1990 to 65.22% by 2022,the country’s population had grown to 920.71 million.This is a rise of 6.46 million from the year prior,which explains why the real estate market has been in a slump recently.The proliferation of intelligent technology and the advancement of artificial intelligence have caused a broadening and remarkable enhancement in the excellence of smart home items,thus providing consumers with more options.This not only helps to expand the scale of smart home consumption,but also stimulates residents to choose development-oriented and enjoyment-oriented products.The unprecedented challenges posed by the broad market and swift technological advancement have been a source of intense competition among many smart home manufacturers,with Guangdong Wanping Intelligent Technology Co.,Ltd.being one such example.,the subject of this study,is one of the smart home companies deeply affected by the real estate market.Guangdong Wanping Intelligent Technology Co.,Ltd.is dedicated to becoming a leader in the intelligent home industry,adhering to the brand mission of "making space more intelligent and intelligence simpler".However,its early business scope mainly covered intelligent overall solutions for smart homes,smart communities,and smart parks,with multiple business ecosystems driving together.As the market for smart communities and parks becomes smaller and the intelligent home business faces competition pressure from leading companies such as Xiaomi and Midea,internal problems such as unscientific investment in R&D resources and insufficient operational capability have already affected Guangdong Wanping’s market survival ability.The current industry is also facing a historic opportunity of technological standardization and strong support from national policies.Guangdong Wanping needs to seize market opportunities,accelerate strategic adjustment,improve the reputation of its products,and promote better development of the company.This article examines the smart home business of Guangdong Wanpin Intelligent Technology Co.,Ltd.through the lens of enterprise core competence and enterprise competitiveness theory,employing literature analysis,case analysis,and case study methods to analyze two distinct internal and external environments.Outlining the macro-environment of politics,economics,society,and technology,the PEST analysis model is particularly pertinent to the smart home business.Employing Porter’s five forces model,the competitive landscape is assessed in five distinct manners: suppliers’ bargaining power,buyers’ bargaining power,the risk posed by new entrants,and the presence of substitutes.Examining the company’s internal environment and resources,one can discern the intensity of rivalry in the same sector.Subsequently,the SWOT tool is utilized to classify the internal and external elements that shape the smart home business and assess the strategic combination.Consequently,Guangdong Wanpin Intelligent Technology Co.,Ltd.should implement a reversal strategy.It is recommended to formulate scientific and detailed implementation plans and safeguard measures by focusing on business,quickly adjusting and developing core products,promoting the development of industry unified agreements,and creating a marketing promotion platform.
