The integrated development of the global economy has driven China’s trade to take off.As a professional foreign trade service company,the trading company is a bridge connecting factories and foreign end-users,and plays a very important role in the international supply chain.With the relaxation of China’s trade policy,many enterprises that did not have import authority have the right to independent import and export operations,and the position of traditional trade service companies in the market has also been greatly reduced.In addition,the rising prices of raw materials and domestic labor costs have led to repeated compression of its profit margins.China’s foreign trade enterprises,especially small and medium-sized export enterprises without independent product production lines,are facing unprecedented survival pressure.Since the outbreak of the COVID-19,Europe and the United States,as major importing countries,have suffered from the impact or even depression of their domestic economies,reduced people’s consumption capacity,and reduced the concentration of foreign trade import business,which has led to the contraction of orders of China’s foreign trade export enterprises.This also makes Chinese foreign trade enterprises have to find ways to survive.As a procurement-based T trading company,its main customers are also supermarkets in the European and American markets,and they are cautious under the influence of various aspects.Because of its typical foreign trade service characteristics,all exported products are purchased by suppliers.Due to the variety of exported products,the number of suppliers involved is beyond imagination.However,the enterprise itself does not have a perfect supplier management system,which directly leads to a large proportion of procurement costs in the total operating costs.It is urgent to establish a perfect supplier management system in line with its own needs.Based on the analysis of the actual business of T trading company,this paper summarizes the existing problems in its management,analyzes the management problems in depth based on the theory,and develops an improvement plan.From the classification of suppliers to the establishment of a supplier evaluation system,it lays the groundwork by cultivating high-quality suppliers and optimizing procurement responsibilities,and puts forward specific implementation safeguards.Through the optimized supplier management system,the overall level of supplier management of T Trading Company was improved,suppliers were selected more scientifically and accurately,and cooperation with suppliers was more collaborative,which was conducive to the development of long-term strategic cooperation between the two sides.This study not only provides T Trading Company with qualified products,but also reduces operating costs,enhances enterprise competitiveness,and also provides some reference for other similar enterprises in solving similar problems.
