The Influence Of Industrial Cohesion On The Quality Of Economic Development In The Yangtze River Economic Belt

China’s economic development has shifted from a stage of high-speed growth to a stage of high-quality development.Manufacturing is not only an important part of China’s national economy,but also the core of the industrial system.The improvement of its growth quality can effectively promote the high-quality development of China’s economy.Extensive development in the past has resulted in the situation of "overcapacity at the low end and insufficient capacity at the high end",and the manufacturing industry is "big but not strong,complete but not excellent".As an intermediate input of the manufacturing industry,the producer service industry has an increasingly close relationship with the manufacturing industry.In order to realize the qualitative development of the manufacturing industry,the development of the producer service industry is inseparable.Adhering to the "two-wheel" drive of manufacturing and producer services is an important way to improve regional competitiveness and promote high-quality economic development.Therefore,this paper takes the manufacturing industry and producer service industry as the main research objects,and deeply explores the impact of the co-location of manufacturing and producer service industry on the quality of economic development.Firstly,starting from the mechanism of industrial cohesion affecting the quality of economic development,this paper analyzes the specific path of industrial cohesion affecting the quality of economic development through the impact of industrial cohesion on the quality of economic development within and outside the region;secondly,using mathematical analysis methods,it descriptively analyzes the status quo of industrial development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt,the status quo of coordinated development of manufacturing and producer services,and the status quo of economic development quality,which lays the foundation for the following research.thirdly,the degree of industrial cohesion and the quality level of economic development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt are measured,and the measurement results are analyzed from the perspectives of time and space;finally,based on the panel data of108 prefecture-level cities from 2003 to 2019,the spatial econometric model is used to empirically test the impact of industrial cohesion on the quality of economic development.The main research conclusions are as follows:(1)At the current stage,the regional differences in the degree of industrial cohesion in the Yangtze River Economic Belt are relatively obvious,showing a spatial pattern of "high in the east and low in the west",and the quality of economic development generally presents a pattern of "horizontal diffusion from east to west".(2)The degree of industrial cohesion and the quality level of economic development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt show significant spatial agglomeration.(3)The influence of industrial cohesion in the Yangtze River Economic Belt on the quality of economic development presents a positive "U" shape.Under the direct effect,when the degree of industrial cohesion is lower than the inflection point(2.1026),the increase in the degree of local industrial cohesion has a significant inhibitory effect on the improvement of the quality of local economic development,and when it is higher than the inflection point(2.1026),it has a significant promoting effect;under the indirect effect,the inflection point of the degree of industrial cohesion is2.2333.When the degree of industrial cohesion is lower than 2.2333,the increase of the degree of industrial cohesion in adjacent areas has a significant inhibitory effect on the quality of local economic development,and when it is higher than 2.2333,it has a promoting effect.(4)Through regional heterogeneity analysis,it is found that under the direct effect,the full-sample inflection point < downstream inflection point < midstream inflection point,the upstream is not significant;under the indirect effect,the upstream inflection point < downstream inflection point < full-sample inflection point,the mid-stream is not significant.Based on the above main research conclusions,this paper puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.The Yangtze River Economic Belt should start from five aspects: actively guiding industrial aggregation,creating a favorable development environment,improving the coordinated development mechanism,following the laws of industrial development,and considering regional development differences,so as to promote the benign industrial aggregation of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,and then promote the steady improvement of the quality of economic development.
