In the digital economy environment, big data is gradually becoming the most important capital and strategic resource of enterprises. As an ability to mine insights from data, the value of big data capability is mainly reflected in its effectiveness for enterprises. How to create business value for enterprises and improve performance is the focus of common concerns of enterprises and scholars. With the wide application of big data in supply chain management, the value of enterprises’ big data capability in improving supply chain performance has been increasingly highlighted.Although the role of big data capability in supply chain performance has received scholars’ attention, the mechanism of the two is still unclear. At the same time,as an active strategy of risk management, the role of supply chain resilience in supply chain performance has been confirmed to varying degrees, especially for highly complex supply chains, the role of resilience in promoting performance is more prominent. In the case of increased uncertainty in the business environment, the big data capability of enterprises is considered to be an important means of forming supply chain resilience and plays an increasingly important role in enhancing the visibility and resilience of the supply chain. However, the existing research is limited to the analysis of the binary relationship between big data capability and supply chain performance or supply chain resilience and supply chain performance, less attention is paid to the relationship between big data capability, supply chain resilience, and supply chain performance, and the research on the regulatory role of external environment uncertainty in the three relationships is even less.Based on the above background, this research relies on the dynamic capability theory and contingency theory to systematically sort out the relevant research on big data capability, supply chain resilience, supply chain performance, and environmental uncertainty and put forward the research hypothesis of the relationship between variables by analyzing the relationship and mechanism of each variable. In this study, the enterprise managers in the manufacturing industry were taken as the research objects, the data were collected by questionnaire survey, the 232 valid questionnaires were analyzed by SPSS26.0 and AMOS 24.0 software, and the proposed research hypotheses were empirically tested.Through the empirical tests, the main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)Big data capability and its constituent dimensions have a significant positive impact on supply chain performance;(2)Big data capability and its constituent dimensions have a significant positive impact on supply chain resilience;(3)Supply chain resilience has a significant positive impact on supply chain performance;(4)Supply chain resilience plays a partial mediating role between big data capability and supply chain performance;(5)Environmental uncertainty positively regulates the relationship between big data capability and supply chain resilience;(6)Environmental uncertainty positively regulates the relationship between supply chain resilience and supply chain performance;(7)Environmental uncertainty positively regulates the moderating role of supply chain resilience between big data capability and supply chain performance.Through empirical tests, this study clarified the mechanism between big data capability, supply chain resilience, and supply chain performance in the case of the uncertain environment, providing certain theoretical support for enterprises to build supply chain resilience by cultivating big data capability, and also expanding a new path for enterprises to improve supply chain performance in the face of the uncertain external environment.
