Study On The Impact Of Trade Facilitation On The Export Of Chinese High-Tech Manufacturing Products To ASEAN

With the deepening of economic globalization and trade integration,trade facilitation has attracted increasing attention.Since 2010,China and ASEAN have formally established the China-Asean Free Trade Area.In recent years,with the continuous development of China-Asean Free Trade Area and the continuous increase of trade volume,China and ASEAN have become one of the most important economic cooperation partners of each other.At the same time,as an important exporter of manufacturing products,China’s high-tech manufacturing industry is an important field of its product export.This paper aims to explore the far-reaching impact of ASEAN trade facilitation on China’s high-tech manufacturing exports to ASEAN.Firstly,the relevant domestic and foreign literature is sorted out and refined.Secondly,discuss the status quo of our country’s high-tech manufacturing industry export to ASEAN from three aspects,including export scale,export structure and export market.At the same time,in order to combine the characteristics of high-tech manufacturing industry,the original trade facilitation index system is optimized and innovated,and the intellectual property protection index is added.Principal component analysis was applied to calculate the level of trade facilitation in ASEAN countries,and these results were applied in the constructed extended trade gravity model.Finally,we use the level of trade facilitation and China’s GDP,the GDP of the importing country,the number of importing countries,the distance between the importing country and China,and whether the importing country shares borders with China as explanatory variables for empirical analysis.In addition,the core explanatory variable trade facilitation level is replaced by its various first-level indicators for robustness test,and then the heterogeneity test is conducted for different segments of high-tech manufacturing industries.After the above studies,we conclude: first,ASEAN trade facilitation has a positive impact on the export of domestic high-tech manufacturing products to ASEAN.Second,in the robustness test of replacing trade facilitation with its first-level indicators,the effects of finance and e-commerce are the most significant.Third,the improvement of trade facilitation in ASEAN countries has different degrees of positive impact on product exports of high-tech manufacturing industries in various subsectors.According to the above empirical results,in order to encourage the export of domestic high-tech manufacturing products and achieve win-win results for both sides of the trade,this paper puts forward targeted policy suggestions from the national level,the level of primary indicators and the level of each sub-segment of high-tech manufacturing industry,so as to strengthen trade facilitation and achieve win-win results.
