Due to the change of the international environment and the domestic optical communication industry pattern,the fiber optic cable industry is facing the situation of oversupply.The fierce competition in the market has brought great pressure to the majority of optical communication enterprises,and also put forward higher requirements for the technology level and innovation ability of enterprises.As a startup optical fiber production innovation enterprise,Y company urgently needs to solve the problem of high unqualified rate of optical fiber water peak,the most important optical fiber quality problem,referred to as the optical fiber water peak quality problem.Aiming at Y Company’s optical fiber water peak quality problem,this thesis comprehensively reviews the research status of optical fiber water peak quality at home and abroad.Based on the in-depth research and analysis of Y company’s optical fiber water peak quality problem,it is found that the main causes of Y Company’s optical fiber water peak quality problem are low clad to core ratio,high hydroxyl content at both ends of the preform,slow feedback of optical fiber water peak quality problem and low efficiency of solving related problems.In order to solve the unqualified water peak of fiber caused by low clad to core ratio of core preform,three important parameters affecting water peak of fiber are extracted from many parameters in the production process by using Shane product/process search method,and then the main effect and interaction effect of these three important parameters are identified,verified and their parameters are optimized by using complete factorial method.Aiming at the problem of unqualified optical fiber water peak caused by high hydroxyl content at both ends of the preform,relevant data are collected and analyzed from the production process.It is found that the high hydroxyl content was mainly due to poor dehydration effect at the seed end of the loose core preform.Therefore,in the process of core preform dehydration,a thermal insulation layer is added to the seed rod end and the position of seed rod end entering the high-temperature dehydration zone is optimized to improve the dehydration effect.In addition,it is also found that the imperfect preform splaying method after stretching is also the main reason for the unqualified water peak of the fiber at both ends of the preform.The operation method of perfect preform splaying after stretching is adopted to optimize.In order to solve the problems caused by slow feedback of water peak quality problem of optical fiber and low efficiency of solving related problems,the continuous output of optical fiber leads to the problem of high unqualified rate of optical fiber water peak,the corresponding rapid rod feedback process,rapid evaluation process of preform sintering and rapid feedback processing process of optical fiber water peak quality problem are adopted to optimize.Finally,through the practical application,after the optimization and implementation of the problems causing the high unqualified rate of optical fiber water peak,the unqualified rate of fiber water peak decreases from 2.98% to 0.39%,decreasing by 86.8%.
